    3. That wouldn't necessarily mean that she wasn't interred at Baltimore Baptist Church Cemetery. When I visited there some years ago, I found gravestones/gravesites for several of my Osborn/e families that were not listed in that book. There were also a couple of large headstones that were toppled over (on the inscriptions side) in the same area. Perhaps SKS might pop in to have a look for you next time they go through Baltimore. 3. I tried Steve's site - what a great find ! It was only through this site that I realized that the new databases for Canadian Border Crossings were on ancestry. Because they are new databases, I believe that they are FREE for a period of time if you go directly to ancestry.ca. A hint to those using the Border crossings - don't forget to check the second page. We found a huge amount of information on this database, such as contact names and addressess for arrival and departure. 3. Ancestry.com has border crossing online up to the 1950s and I found some family coming by plane. These are cards and ships manifests for various types of crossings. Diane Jacobs Somerset, NJ I think Polly, we may have misunderstood. I too thought it was crossings over the actual boarder. My family came into Maine that way also. I still have much to learn. david >I don't see any border crossings on this Steve Morse site. I see a lot > of info about ships coming to different ports. 3. Polly, Go back to Steve Morse's website and look at the second group of passenger lists. At the bottom near the end are the Canadian Border Crossings. You will need a subscription to ancestry to access them as they are on ancestry.com. What Steve has done is given you a much better way to search using many different parameters. Diane Jacobs Somerset, NJ I don't see any border crossings on this Steve Morse site. I see a lot of info about ships coming to different ports. Most of the site is just another bunch of click, click to Amazon.com with its hand out for money for its very inaccurate records. My father came across the border from NB to ME in 1907 in a WAGON. Many came from across the seas to North America, disembarking in various Canadian ports (which means they entered/crossed the border into Canada), then later crossed into the USA by land. The reverse also happened. There is a recently added database which does give actual land crossings. Sorry I don't have the URL to hand, but it was quite extensive. Are you sure you are searching the correct web site? Perhaps some of you have mixed the two up. Most likely someone has the correct web URL and they can post it for you. Toni ~ Ontario

    3. Steve Morse's template worked fine for me (I'm a subscriber). I did a search for surname "Fisher" for the state of Maine. The search produced 249 hits. One definitely belongs to my Fisher family: Florence Rosamond Fisher. The border crossing card shows that she entered 6 August 1928, at Calais, Maine, that she was born in Rollingdam, NB, about 1910, her father's name was Charles, and that her arrival contact was her sister Mrs. John Douglas Sinclair in Everett, Mass. The indexing shows her sister's name as "Lucian" but I know it's Sinclair so it's a transcription error from the original card which is kind of messy. At first glance, this appears to be a fantastic resource for tracking the all-too-frequent migrations of New Brunswickers to New England and beyond.
