Okay, here's another idea. There was a Catherine (daughter) enumerated with Dr. William Bayard under both variations of the name in 1881 and 1891...could she have signed the letter on William's behalf as his secretary? That kinda kills my "bogus doctor's note" theory :-( Has anyone ever run across that kind of thing? Jay Underwood Elmsdale NS Now available from Railfare-DC Books! Thanks Shirley, there's two variations I did't try.....now for the "C." This "C" Bayard also signed as having his diploma from Edinburrgh as did William, so perhaps I should contact Edinburgh University archives before I write it off as a typo. Yes, I checked Dan Johnson's reliable archive, and found Robert and his sons Edwin and William, but no "C" Bayard. Quite possibly that was Dr. William Bayard of Saint John (1814-1907)...see his biography here: http://www.biographi.ca/009004-119.01-e.php?&id_nbr=6544&&PHPSESSID=ychzfqkv zape But given the different initial possibly another member of the family; his father Robert and uncle Samuel were also doctors. Hi Jay... I wish I had my friend's genealogy handy - this is her line. She was descended from the brother Charles. I do remember the Edinburgh U. but I think it was only the one & I thought it was Wm. There is an online record for this cemetery made in the 1970's. I do not know...Do you have birthday or other info on the family that may guide me. Thanks for helping
I took a look for Timothy and Melissa Collins on ancestry.ca, but there are so many hits, I need their dates to proceed further. Do you have approximate birthdates? Thank you, Irene. I now have the 1871 census entry for Timothy and Melissa. It turns out they had moved and were not in St. John County that year. Many thanks for looking for them. I do appreciate it. Hi Shirley, Thanks for your email. I do have dates for Timothy and Melissa Collins, and I actually have a lot of information on them and their descendants. What I specifically needed was the 1871 census information, and I now have that. I appreciate your interest very much and offer to help. I think I'm in pretty good shape now with this family. Hello George, I have checked the 1871 Census index and found two entries for Timothy Collins. With the first one is listed Ellen, Ellen, Patrick, Catherine, Julia, Timothy, Jeremiah, John and Hannah. With the second Timothy Collins the other names are Johanna, Michael, Daniel, Johnanna, Bridget, Mary, Cornealis and John. There is no mention of a Melissa in any of the Collins entries. Check this out http://www.findagrave.com/php/famous.php?page=cem&FScemeteryid=1759114 Gordon in Ottawa -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Bonny Pond Sent: June 3, 2009 5:24 AM To: [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: Re: [ NB ] Forest Hill Cemetery, Fredericton Yes it was published. It's called: "Forest Hill Cemetery: A Biographical Index" and it was very well done (pictures; obituaries; etc). I borrowed it from a friend. I do not have a copy myself so, unfortunately, cannot do any look-ups for you. Does anyone know whether this book ever made it off the presses? Is it available anywhere? Thanks much.
