    1. [ NB ] 2 George HENDERSONs? Jane GIGGEY & Priscilla "Jane" GIGGEY
    2. S. Olfert
    3. Hi List, I an soooo hoping that someone who knows the HENDERSON family genalogy can sort this out for me. On the new Brenan's Funeral Home (panb) records online, the death record for Jane GIGGEY, age 92, Widow, shows that her husband was George Henderson; parents John GIGGEY & Rebecca GOLDING of Kingston Parish, Kings Co.; died 1932; bur Cedar Hill Cemetery, Saint John. Mrs. John FRODSHAM, daughter, was the informant on the record. The 1851 Kings Co. Census shows that John & Rebecca had a daughter Lydia J., age 13. Online, I found this: I have been on Gord Miller's Kingston Parish website and he shows the burial record below and could not sort it out. St. Paul's Cemetery records, Whitehead - burials without gravestones - shows the following record: 6. HENDERSON: = Eliza w/o John Henderson, ae 78 . . . . . . . . . . 12 Mar 1849 = Charles Henry Henderson, Centreton, ae 78 . . . . . 29 Mar 1902 *= Priscilla Jane Henderson, w/o George, ae 82 (Centreton) 8 Jun 1913* *= George Henderson, Centreton, ae 78. . . . . . . . . 14 Feb 1914* = Julia Ann Henderson, St. John, ae 73. . . . . . . . 1 Jun 1915 Henderson family records show this w/o George William HENDERSON as Priscilla "Jane" GIGGEY - parents unknown; bur 1913 w/ hsuband Geroge who died 1914. Other records show this family as having children Lavinia, etc. including daughter named Charlotte. The George E. HENDERSON who suddenly has a wife Jane on the 1881 Census - I don't know if this is the Jane GIGGEY d/o John & Rebecca (GOLDING) GIGGEY OR if she is even a GIGGEY. For me, the clue is the Mrs. John FRODSHAM who was the informant and the daughter of the Jane GIGGEY who died in 1932. According to NB Archives records, the wife of John FRODSHAM was Charlotte GIGGEY. I have searched through the various censuses and have found the following records - which have not answered the question. 2 George HENDERSONs - both with wives named Jane - but only one with a daughter named Charlotte. And the 1911 Jane HENDERSON, Widow, I don't know if she is even one of the Janes??? 1. 1881 CDN Census: New Brunswick, Kings, Kingston Parish Henderson - George E., Male, 40, New Brunswick, Ch of England, Irish, Farmer - Henry, Male, 59, New Brunswick, ChEngland, Irish - Julia, Female, 45, New Brunswick, ChEngland, Irish, Tayloress - Louisa, Female, 15, New Brunswick, ChEngland, Irish 2. 1881 CDN Census: New Brunswick, Kings, Kingston Parish HENDERSON - Geo. 3. Hi Grant & Bonny, I did a quick search in the Library of Canada Index and the online booksellers I use - without too much luck I may add. However: It looks as if the book was published in 2006 and the publisher is listed as: PUBLISHER: Fredericton, NB : South Devon Publishing, [2006] it may be worth while to track them down and see if they have an residuals you can buy. I did also notice there is a copy in the Library and Archives of Canada here in Ottawa and it should be available through ILL. Go to your local friendly library and tell them you want to borrow: AMICUS No. 32907976 and see if that works for you. :-) Malcolm Archive CD Books Canada Inc. 3. Hi List, I am trying to find out who the "Widow Elizabeth LOUNDER" was in the 30 July 1839 Westfield Parish, Kings County marriage to William GIGGY / GIGGEY. Marriage record says that she was from Greenwich Parish, Kings Co. They are on the 1851 Westfield Parish; Elizabeth is age 50 (c1801) and then by the 1861 Census, William has died (1858) and she is now the Widow Elizabeth GIGGY, age 55 (c1805) enumerated in Greenwich Parish. The next person enumerated on the 1861 census is Benjamin LOUNDER, 40, and his wife Catherine. Catherine was Mary Catherine PARKER, daughter of Isaac & Mary Ann (Giggey) PARKER - Mary Ann (Giggey) Parker was the dau/o William GIGGY who had married the Widow LOUNDER. Benjamin LOUNDER's signature was also found in the 1859 Intestate papers of William GIGGY overseeing the inventory. Other researchers have Benjamin LOUNDER as the s/o Thomas & Eleanor ( ) LOUNDER. I've checked his brothers in case they married an Elizabeth and died before 1839 - but nothing. I also checked his sister Elizabeth c1809 but she appears to have married Thomas Morgan NASON and they had children from c1836-1850... so nothing there. I have been searching other LOUNDERS but they all seem to relate back to Thomas & Eleanor. Is anyone familiar with this family and has a fresh perspective on the Widow Elizabeth LOUNDER - oh, and I checked LOUNDEN / LOUDER and nothing. Shirley

    3. Edinburgh University special collections says there is no record of a C. Bayard having studied medicine there, and wonders if the "C" could have been a mistranscribed "E" for Edwin, since Edwin Bayard graduated from Edinburgh in 1846, but another check of Johnson shows Edwin Bayard died in 1875, and the letter in question was written 1880...I checked Johnson for Charles Bayard too...he died of insanity and exposure in 1871. 3. No, it's very definitely a fully-developed "C"! I wasn't really joking about the conspiracy theory, but I want to make sure I'm not seizing upon an otherwise easily explained phenomenon in order to make my case more credible. I have e-mailed Edinburgh University's special collections people to see if they have a "C. Bayard" on record. Jay Underwood Elmsdale NS Now available from Railfare-DC Books!
