    3. Here's, pehraps, a start: 1) Magloire Cote, son of Joseph Cote & Marie Barre from Canada, died in Connor Planatation, Maine 10/13/1908 at 80 yrs old. In 1900, #1 was married to Anastasia. Both parents b. Fr. Canada, b. Jul-1828, same. Came to US in 1880. Married Anastasia @1857. Son named Joseph, b. Dec-1865, Can/Fr. Residing at Connor Plantation, Aroostook Co, ME. 2) Magloire Cote, son of Theophille Cote & Engelle Bealieu from Canada, died in Connor Planatation, Maine 2/1/1913 at 73 yrs old. In 1900, #2 was married to Elizabeth. Arrived in US in ?1800?, b. Can/Fr. as were parents. b. Oct-1838, married to Elizabeth but no marriage date listed. Was also on Connor Plantation. He was listed as "father-in-law" of Francis Cote, b. AUg-1862, Can/Fr, who was married to "Flavie", b. May-1867, Maine. They were married around 1885, Flavie had 10 children, 5 surviving in 1900. Given the same surname, but listing as father-in-law, wonder if Flavie was also a COTE at birth? Elizabeth was listed as b. Can/Fr in May-1822. The record lists her as aged 72 in 1900, so perhaps it should be 1827? Can get more info, but only had a few minutes before I had to leave for the day... 3. My experience with Ancestry.com was as follows: I agreed to a one-month free trial, at which time they took my credit card number. A month later, I decided not to renew. I spent 5 weeks trying to cancel, during wich time, they charged two addidional months to my credit card. I called twice a day for 5 weeks before I finally got a human being. They did refund my money, but the aggravation was priceless. I don't know if they still practice business like that or not. It's too bad. There have been a few times when I would like to have joined for a month, knowing I could complete the research I need their services for during that time. I was not giving them my credit card again! Incidentally, in trying to convince me to stay, they did offer me a discount. Best of luck, Lisa Z

    3. Have you found that perhaps, even though recorded as Baptist, marriages, etc. might be recorded in the local Anglican records, for example? 3. Hi Heather,   My subscription expired back in December but didn't have $300 to plunk down for a new round, but by the time 3 mos passed, I was going crazy without it. I called them late March and when they looked at my records and saw I had been a paying subscriber since 1999, they gave me 25% off. Which wasn't as good as the last time when they phoned me over a year ago and wanted me to stay (they gave me $100 off then).   If you call once and they don't give you any discount, I'd try again and hope you get someone else who might extend the benefit of a discount. The price keeps climbing, but so does the amount of available records at your fingertips. It's a lot at once, but when divided monthly, and what we get out of it, I think it's more than worthwhile. I certainly waste way more than $20-$30/mo on really stupid stuff, so when I think about that amount for Ancestry...I don't have a problem with it. I just wish it was as reasonable to pay monthly as it's always tough to come up with a big amount at once.   I have to get the World membership because half my research is here in the States, and the other half in Quebec and New Brunswick. 1. [ NB ] First Families of NB / Manchester
    2. Lisa Zajkowski
    3. Hello All, In the First Families list, there is an entry for the family of John Manchester & Elizabeth Brittain, who it claims, married in SJ in 1810. It suggests they lived in the area of Greenwich, Kings County, and gives a list of 13 children. I know the "FF" can be filled with errors, but I can find no evidence this family ever even existed. There are some Manchesters in the area of Apohaqui late in the 1800's, but nothing else. I checked early Saint John marriages, but found no entries for this family. Dan Johnson's Vital Statics has some entries for the late 1800 people, but the few entries from way back are for people not mentioned as being part of this particular family. First Families is a wonderful resource, and errors or not, I have never known it to name a family that didn't exist. It's possible that the family moved on very early, but FF usually notes this. Can anyone tell me if this family was real? Thank You, Lisa Z
