    1. [ NB ] MOORE / KILPATRICK
    2. Suzanne Carter
    3. Hi All, I have a brick wall that I am tackling again. I am hoping a KILPATRICK researcher will be able to help. On the 30 Oct 1859 William Andrew MOORE of Black River, Saint John Co., my ancestor, married Mrs. Elizabeth KILPATRICK b. 14 Jan 1831 in Ireland. She supposedly came over in 1855. William died in 1873 and she possibly married James McDERMOTT around 1876 in Saint John. Does anyone have Elizabeth in their tree? Thanks, Suzanne Carter

This National Site is proud to announce that there are more than 500 cemeteries completely photographed and onboard, amounting to over 350,000 searchable photographs. There have been over 550,000 visitors to the site. Each day there are over 200 folks browsing the site and there are over 10,000 name searches each month. * 3. If you have family or friends across Canada who may be interested in photographing their local cemeteries, please pass on this information to them. Their photographed cemeteries will have wide exposure on this National Cemetery website. * 4. If you and/or your organization is interested in your local cemeteries going online, please contact Murray Pletsch at: mailto:[email protected] or mailto:[email protected] * 5. A comprehensive "Tips and Hints" brochure will be sent to all interested folks....to help them get started to photograph entire cemeteries. * 6. For those interested, "The Canadian Gravemarker Gallery" is now a "Group" on Facebook. * * SUBSCRIBING TO THE WEBSITE UPDATES NEWSLETTER: ******************************************** Don't miss future monthly updates. Subscribe to the automatic Gravemarker Galleries Newsletter. Please go to the Website at: http://www.gravemarkers.ca and click on the "Join Updates Newsletter" button located just above the weather row. * ****************************************************** * HELPFUL NOTES: ************* 1. Cemeteries have spousal duplicated photographs. This means a photo which also has the spouse's maiden name showing, is duplicated and when one searches using the onboard search engine, for a surname, the spouse's surname will be reported as a separate "search result". * 2. If your "search engine" keyword is the same as a city, town, village, township then here is a valuable tip. *CONCERN:* If your "search engine" keyword you are using is say: pembrok* then your search will pick up all the pembroke surnames....*BUT* ...it will also pick up all the website pages where pembroke is used as a meta name. *SOLUTION:* Change your keyword to pembrok1 and the search engine will only pick up the gravemarkers with the pembroke surname. * 3. Should you wish to help out with this ongoing huge project financially or in other ways, please contact Murray Pletsch at mailto:[email protected] * Bye for now.....Murray * Cdn Gravemarker Gallery - http://www.gravemarkers.ca * Facebook Group: [The Canadian Gravemarker Gallery]

    1. Re: [ NB ] Power - Douthwright
    2. Robert Dunfield
    3. Beverly H. I don't have any specific info on the Douthwrights mentioned below, but I do have the funeral records from Dunfield's Funeral Home in Petitcodiac for the years 1919-1945 in which approximately 20 Douthwrights are mentioned. If you want to give me your mailing address, I will send you hard copies of these abstracted entries. Also, I have an item related to early Douthwright grants in the Fort Cumberland and Salisbury areas. This I have patched in below: I hope this is helpful. Bob Dunfield Lot [not numbered or lettered], 10 acres, J. Dowthwaite [Douthwright], May 10, 1798: Although this lot is identified as being granted to J. Dowthwaite on cadastral map No. 144, the grantee of this 10 acre lot west of the fort grounds is named James Dougthwaite on the Land Grant File Index. James Douthright (1740- ) was said to have come to the area on the Thomas and William in 1774 and was listed as a farmer at that time. Although the names of his children and wife have not been clearly established, his wife may have been Freelove Briggs, and he may have had at least three children: Thomas, Robert and James. One researcher reports that he moved to Hillsborough Township;1609 if this is correct, he may be the James Dothwait who received a grant in Salisbury on July 4, 1814.1610 ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, September 28, 2009 12:02 PM Subject: [ NB ] Power - Douthwright > Looking to find some information on the Power - Douthwright family below. > Anyone that can help me fill in some missing information would be great. > Especially for the ones mentioned below I didn't mention the ones I have > quite > a bit of information on... > > > NAME: James Power > RELATION: > BIRTH PLACE: Lower Coverdale Parish, Albert County, > NB, > Canada > BIRTH DATE: December 01, 1830 > DECEASED: after 1901 > AT: > INTERMENT: > CAUSE: > PARENTS: 1st child of Sarah (Douthwright) & > John > SPOUSE: Delilah Douthwright > RELATION: > BIRTH PLACE: Salisbury Parish, Westmorland, New > Brunswick Canada > BIRTH DATE: November 3, 1838 > DECEASED: After 1901 > AT: > INTERMENT: > CAUSE: > PARENTS: William & Mary Martha. 1. [ NB ] Colwell family of Saint John
    2. David Reed
    3. My grandmother Wilhelmina Colwell (1878 - 1973) was born in Saint John to William H. Colwell (1839 -1921) and Margaret Brittain (1840 - 1923). William Colwell's father was Levi Colwell (1812 - 1843) and Levi's father was John Colwell (1785 - 1863). I have often wondered whether these Colwells were connected with the Jemseg, Queens Co. Colwells, but as yet have found no evidence. Some years ago I was reading an article about Enoch B. Colwell, grandson of John Colwell and 1st cousin of William H. Colwell which stated that his father's family came from Queens Co. If anyone has any insights to this question, I would be pleased to hear them. My original immigrant to Nfld was James Mortimer who married Diana Ridway in Harbor Grace,Nfld. on 19 Oct. 1817. marriage documents state both were from "Bristol" Eng.? I have been able to piece together their decendants, but like my Sinnott ancestors below I have no record of how or when they sailing to Nfld. I also have a huge brickwall in regards to my 2nd Grt Grandfather Thomas Sinnott, b. in Co. Wexford in 1796 and his wife Jane Kincade, b. Co. Wexford in 1800. ( source marriage documents ) They both immigrated to New Brunswick,Ca. in 1821 and married in 1825.. but I have never been able to find any reference of how or when they sailed, whether they sailed together nor the port of departure. I think Terence Punch was English or Irish and obtained his data from departure records. 1. [ NB ] McDANIEL, McDONALD, early 1800's (RICE)
    2. Betty
    3. Hello, As I've mentioned before, one of my ancestors, Lucy McDANIEL or McDONALD is a concrete-block wall for me. No one seems to know who her parents were. The consensus is that she was born ~1813 in New Brunswick. But, she married in 1832 in Lubec, Maine, to Daniel RICE. They remained living there and had 10 children. Last week I was looking through the archives of Lists and was reminded that there was an old record showing the full name, Lucy E. McDANIEL. That made me wonder whether she could have been an Elizabeth McDANIEL or McDONALD who had the nickname, Lucy. This morning I was looking at the archives again and found a message mentioning that the "Campobello web site" had been updated. And, it mentioned that there was new information on a McDONALD / McDANIEL family in early Lubec, ME. I immediately went to the site and looked at the data base mentioned. It starts with a John and Hannah (?) McDONALD who had a son, John McDONALD, who married Huldah RAMSDELL in 1805 in Eastport, ME. They had many children, with some born in Eastport and some in Lubec. There were 3 sons, and then a daughter, Sally (died young), then Hannah (who married), then another son, then Betsy, b1815 (no info), then a son, and then another daughter, Mary, and then more sons, etc. I have now become more curious. Could this Betsy McDONALD had had the birth-name, Elizabeth. And, if so, could she have been my ancestor? And, could she have taken on the nickname, Lucy, as a school-child or teen? For example, Elizabeth "Betsy" "Lucy" McDONALD / McDANIEL. http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/can-nb-charlotte/2004-01/1074486303 http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nbcampob/camp8.htm Daniel and "Lucy" RICE remained in Lubec, ME, and so did the McDONALD family I mentioned above. And this is the first time, I think, that I've seen RICE and McDANIEL in Lubec at the same time. What I have also found this month is that daughter, Amelia RICE, might have married in Maine to Charles McNEAR (of Maine) and then come down to MA ~1870. I had guessed that son, Charles, had come down to MA ~1872, but now wonder if he came down to MA with his sister in 1870. The McNEAR family initially lived in Boston but later lived in Medford, MA. It seems Charles remained close to his sister's family until his death in 1916. Charles had married near Boston in 1875 to Adelaide Crosby HUTCHINSON of Winchester, MA. It has just occurred to me that he could have found work on either the CROSBY Farm or the nearby HUTCHINSON Farm. Unfortunately, soon after the births of 2 daughters, Charles and Adelaide separated. I still don't know where Charles lived during 1880's and 1890's, but he did live in Milton, MA, for a time. Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA)
