This long established, free-access National Site is proud to announce that there are more than 700 cemeteries completely photographed and onboard, amounting to over 350,000 searchable photographs. There have been over 610,000 visitors to the site. Each day there are over 200 folks browsing the site and there are over 12,000 name searches each month. * 3. If you have family or friends anywhere in Canada, who may be interested in photographing their local cemeteries, please inform them of the availability of The Canadian Gravemarker Gallery. Their completely photographed cemeteries will have world wide exposure on this National Cemetery Photograph website. * 4. If you and/or your organization are interested in your local cemeteries going online, please contact us at: pletsch@cogeco.ca or murray@gravemarkers.ca - there are no cemeteries too big or too small...! * 5. A comprehensive "Tips and Hints" brochure will be sent to all interested folks....to help them get started photographing entire cemeteries. * * SUBSCRIBING TO THE WEBSITE UPDATES NEWSLETTER: ******************************************** * Don't miss future monthly updates. Subscribe to the automatic Gravemarker Galleries Newsletter. Please go to the Website at: http://www.gravemarkers.ca and click on the "Join Updates Newsletter" button located just above the weather row. * * HELPFUL HINTS: ************* * 1. Are you tracing a female ancestor....? Cemeteries online have spousal duplicated photographs. This means a photo of a stone which also has the spouse's maiden name showing, is duplicated and when one searches using the onboard search engine, for a surname, the spouse's surname will be reported as a separate "search result". * 2. Over the years it has been apparent that this website is instrumental in breaking down researchers' brick walls. In fact many folks have travelled to cemeteries which are onboard to physically observe the grave markers. Please note that on some cemeteries we have included the contact information for the cemetery "record holders". * 3. If you don't see a Community and its' cemeteries online...it means a volunteer has not photographed and sent me the cemetery photographs. Can you or some of your family or friends help out by photographing the missing cemeteries....? * * FEEDBACK ******* * We are always interested in feedback from Visitors. If you have any questions or suggestions to improve the Canadian Gravemarker Gallery please do not hesitate to send your concerns or suggestions to us at : pletsch@cogeco.ca * * ********************************************* Happy New Year to You and Yours.....Murray P l e t s c h * Cdn Gravemarker Gallery - http://gravemarkers.ca * Ont Historic Gallery - http://rootsweb.com/~cannor * *********************************************

    3. Hi Folks, This time of year, folks tend to back off from posting messages as they are busy with the holiday season. Whenever you feel there may be something wrong with you receiving the list, feel free to check the List Archives to see when the last message was posted. http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/index/NEWBRUNSWICK/ You can also find out if there's a problem by visiting the List Announcements page at http://www.rootsweb.com/~nbcharlo/nblistann.htm If you are a "Digest" subscriber, you receive the list once it gets to a certain size (20KB). 1. [ NB ] OBIT: Catherine Anne Marie LEGER Baxter
    2. Heather Waddingham
    3. HI List: Found in the Toronto Star Dec 14 2010 CATHERINE ANNE-MARIE BAXTER September 10, 1919 - December 12, 2010 Passed away after a very long and courageous battle with cancer. Catherine was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Harold Baxter and by three of her daughters: Anne-Marie, Elizabeth, and Theresa. Loving mother of Cecilia (Gordon Chaytors) and Mary-Anne (Gregory McGuire). She was the wonderful grandmother of Natasha and Zoë Chaytors and step- grandmother of Denise and Michaela McGuire. 'Auntie Kay' will be fondly remembered by her many godchildren, nieces and nephews as well as her Baxter sisters and brothers- in-law. Catherine was born in a small Acadian Village in New Brunswick. She was educated in a one-room schoolhouse by her mother, who was the only teacher. She was predeceased by her parents, Willie and Irene Leger and by her siblings, Bertha, Anne-Marie, Pamphile and Joseph. During World War II Catherine moved to Ontario to work in an aircraft factory in Malton. She married Harold and settled in Toronto. Together they built their beautiful home, where Catherine lived for 55 years. They were founding members of St. Jude's Parish in Weston. Catherine was a woman of many talents and interests. She loved to knit and sew and many family members and friends were happy recipients of her work. She greatly enjoyed entertaining playing cribbage, bridge and euchre. Catherine was passionate about her Blue Jays, curling, reading and watching mystery stories. She enjoyed 30 years of cottage life at Purdy Lake as well as yearly trips home to New Brunswick. But most of all she loved visiting with her two granddaughters whether at home in Weston or in Alberta. Catherine was a woman of great inner strength and faith who touched many. Many thanks to Doctors J. Rodgerson, M.T. Cheung, J. Wilson, and A. Boszko, the homecare nurses, PCWs, and Greenview Lodge staff. Family and friends will be received at Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, on Wednesday, December 15 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 16 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 1300 Leslie Street. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Thornhill. In lieu of flowers, family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Alzheimer Society of Canada. **Check out the web site for a picture of her. http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/thestar/obituary.aspx?n=catherine-anne-marie-baxter&pid=147112171 Published in the Toronto Star from December 14 to December 15, 2010

At the Canadian Gravemarker Gallery, which is online at: http://gravemarkers.ca ..we can accommodate unlimited numbers of photographs of complete cemeteries from anywhere in Canada. The photographers and/or organizations are given credit on the website for their interest and hard work. * 2. This long established, free-access National Site is proud to announce that there are more than 800 cemeteries completely photographed and onboard, amounting to over 350,000 searchable photographs. There have been 600,000 visitors to the site. Each day there are over 200 folks browsing the site and there are over 12,000 name searches each month. * 3. If you have family or friends anywhere in Canada, who may be interested in photographing their local cemeteries, please inform them of the availability of The Canadian Gravemarker Gallery. Their photographed cemeteries will have world wide exposure on this National Cemetery Photograph website. * 4. If you and/or your organization are interested in your local cemeteries going online, please contact Murray P l e t s c h at: pletsch@cogeco.ca or murray@gravemarkers.ca - there are no cemeteries too big or too small...! 3. Hi Shirley I'm not sure if Alfred remarried or not. He might very well have because I only have two children for the marriage of Alfred & Marie Anne Blais. Thanks for your help. 1. [ NB ] Foote Family of Saint John
    2. Carol Norman
    3. Does anyone on the list know of this family? Jack Robert Foote, his wife Mildred Louise (nee Seely), who lived at 269 Germain St., Saint John, as of 1956? They married in 1930 & had 4 children: Stephen, Nesta, Nedras and Iris, who would supposedly be in their 70's or 80's by now. The Seeley website has Mildred Louise's date of death as Nov. 18, 1980; it doesn't say where she died but she was supposedly buried in Saint John. Would like to know what became of them: are any of the 4 children still alive? Any contact info appreciated. Thank you Carol Norman cgnorm@earthlink.net

    1. Re: [ NB ] 150+ year-old BROWN document
    2. Hello Jim - Without digging out my entire Brown file, I can say that my BROWNS came out of England, traveled to Massachusetts Cape Cod area - then traveled to Maine where the majority took up residence on Vinal Haven - then moved south again to the Gloucester / Rockport areas of Massachusetts. If any of this strikes a cord please let me know and I'll certainly dig deeper. Many thanks for sharing !! Steve Brown In a message dated 11/22/2010 7:17:55 A.M. Eastern Standard Time, jerx42@hughes.net writes: Somehow I got unsubscribed from this list and had to do it again, so I am resending this message. If it does not take this time, I give up and will just trash the document. Below is a list of BROWNs who are the descendants of Alexander BROWN (born 1793) and Grace GILMORE (born 1796). Both born in New Brunswick, Canada and descendant from Loyalists. I have a document that was hand drawn ca 1850, that lists all of their children. It is rather fancy with hand-drawn flowers, all in color, with the lettering being calligraphy. I will share digital images with any descendants, and if I can locate a direct descendant of the male line I will pass along the original document, keeping only a digital copy for myself. It is now in a sealed frame with acid-free matting and UV-resistant glass. Alexander is my 2gGrandfather, and I do have more on his line back a couple more generations (which are NOT in the document). jim Alexander BROWN b. 4 Feb 1793, New Brunswick, Canada & Grace GILMORE b. 13 Nov 1796, Penniac, York Co, New Brunswick m.
