Hello to any lister who lives on the Hibiscus Coast in Auckland . . . . A few years ago they stopped publication of the Hibiscus Coast Community Calendar which had been published and delivered free by the Rodney Times to homes in the Hibiscus Coast. The format of this calendar was to advertise local businesses, with a historic photo for each month of the calendar. Does anyone still have these pictures? I am looking for one picture specifically that showed the interior of a department store - the ladies department section, with corsets and the like, and large mirrors hanging around the walls. Unfortunately I do not know the year of the calendar it was in, or where the photo was taken, but I think it was taken around the turn of the last century - circa 1890-1920ish. I have spoken with and emailed the Rodney Times, but it seems they may be unable to help me to even identify the photo. So if anyone can help, I would be eternally grateful. Thanks, Beth
Hi Beth Try this lady Jude Tewnion. She is in ChCh but may be able to help - she couldn't find the photo I was after in the archived local newspaper of ChCh but did manage to locate it in the Auckland Library. The newspaper was dated 1976. Jude Tewnion (Permissions, Licensing & Archives Manager) in ChCh. Her email address jude.tewnion@fairfaxmedia.co.nz Ph: 03 943 2636 Mob: 027 299 5362 It's worth a try and if she cannot help she may put you on to someone who may be able to. Have you tried Silverdale historic Village Society. I think a lot of photos come from them. I'm sure we still get the calendar each year Raewyn On Wed, 15 Aug 2018, 10:24 Margaret Armstrong, <margaret@megadyne.co.nz> wrote: > Hi Beth > > Try this lady Jude Tewnion.
