In the 1860/70's, many of this family emigrated to NZ, specifically North Canterbury, settling around Balcairn, nr Amberley. There are a number of the men and women whom I haven't been able to follow up or trace in NZ. I would be interested if anyone has an interest in any of these names: Family 1. Mary Anne Fitzpatrick, b c.1856 (immigration 1873) Hugh Fitzpatrick, b 1854 (imm. 1873) may be buried Rotorua 1908. Charles " b Jul 1856 (") Patrick " b c. 1857 (") maybe a marriage to Bridget WALSH in 1887 Michael " b c. 1862 (") maybe a marriage to Margaret MERRIGAN in 1882 [All of the above as much as I can gather, were the children of John Fitzpatrick (b c. 1801) and Rose CRANE b c 1801)] Family 2. Mary Fitzpatrick b 1846 (immigration 1861) Britta " b c. 1857 (") She is aged 4 at immmigration. The name I believe is a diminutive for Bridget. As there is a Bridget with her father on the ship, Britta may be her daughter. [These two and 4 others are the children of Thomas Fitzpatrick (b c.1802) (brother of John above) and Ann COYLE b c 1812)] Thank you Bryan Kaiapoi
Thanks. I have him. It's the ones I listed I'm interested in. Hi Bryan You describe a big family, so finding one branch should give you some leads to the others. I have just sent you something about a John Fitzpatrick, son of Charles. John was born at Balcairn and was a policeman.
