Hi I am trying to trace the family of Thomas Craig Dowding who was a private soldier under the surname Green in the NZ 26th Battalion during WW2 and taken prisoner in North Africa in Nov 1941 He married Majorie O'Halloran in 1946 and had two children, a boy and a girl. He worked for the NZ Forest Service and died in 2003 My reason for this is that he was one of five NZ prisoners of war (including my uncle) that were sheltered by an Italian family for several months 1943/44 after they escaped from a POW camp in northern Italy in Sept 1943. I will be visiting the family in Italy during August after 74 years and would like to contact the family of the other men who were with my uncle. If anyone knows of this family please get in touch. Regards, Ray Greer
