    3. A reminder that not all passengers were listed. My relatives a case in point. Isaac Dixon died on board the ‘Mermaid’ in Lyttelton Harbour. As a consequence I haven’t found him on the Mermaid excepting it is on his death certificate and in the affidavits his wife Ann Dixon (Bird) swore for probate. With them was their daughter Elizabeth - none were listed. Cheers Gwyneth

    3. I did see this obituary thank you and thought that I would need further proof via information on a death certificate. I wondered if looking at a fiche would assist me.     3. Hi Chris, FYI, the information you seek is not in the indexes, whether online or on microfiche. At most, the fiche will tell you the office at which the death was registered, which you can't get from the online indexes. You will need to obtain a copy of the death registration, to see the details about birth that you mentioned. If purchasing from BDM, don't forget to get the printout, not the certificate, for family history purposes.
