    3. GRAMPS will handle them; I have a copy but it seems to have a steep learning curve. I'm shortly going to start using Family Historian, but have to upgrade to Windows 7; the previous version will run on XP. My present antique DOS program handles multiple marriages directly without having to go back a generation to get all the children Brian Fleming On 20/01/2017 1:35 PM, Annette McLean wrote: > Hi List > > I was wondering how to enter a same sex marriages into my genealogy > programme. > At present I am putting them into the marriage notes of one of the > partners. 3. I have Family Tree Maker and I just did a test. If you enter a female person and then enter a spouse, the spouse's gender defaults to Male but the system allows you to change it to Female. I am assuming it would also work the other way around. I don't know if this would cause any flow on issues, but someone else who has done this may know. But if the question is whether you want to show a same sex marriage in the first place then I think it is up to you and the couple concerned to decide how they want to be shown. If they are legally married or are in a civil partnership, then I think the default position would be to include them as a spouse the same as any other couple.
