Division 1st Anzac Corps 25/6/16 Date of Recommendation These 14 men acted as runners between firing line, Bn Hd Qrs & advanced Bde Hd Qrs during the Battn attack on Poziers. Their devotion to duty was a thing to marvel at, not one hesitated a moment with result that Bn Hd Qrs & Bde were kept informed of the position. The work of Runners and stretcher bearers is the most dangerous of all; how any survived the full fury of Poziers is a wonder. Telephonic & orders ? requesting {?signalling ____} was impossible thus all this work of communication devolved on these runners. These fourteen men guided the relieving Brigade to its position.
