My PC recently suffered a melt-down. I installed Windows 10 and also FTM 2014. I was told that I could just load the newer version over the existing prog. This I did and now nothing works, FTM that is. Example, having loaded FTM 2014 my system then wanted to convert the records in my data base. I assumed all was well until it stopped processing and refused to do anything else. Each time I load FTM 2014 my system tells me that I need to convert my records. Any suggestions as to that which I can do to rectify the situation??? Many thx, Ron.

I had exactly the same problem Ron and I had to get them to re-install Windows 7. The technicians are completely unhelpful and said it just happens with some computers - no reason given!! Someone else said you need to install Windows 8 before Windows 10, but it didn't say that on the instructions. I gave up on FTM and went to Legacy.
