I've put a lot of my family research online and I have found over time that a number of people that have cut and pasted my content into their own websites without reference to me or mine. It's very easy to see word for word my own writing on others' pages. I used to get quite angry about it, now I'm more relaxed. Lazy researching is pretty obvious. Generally, sites with 'borrowed' information tend to be pretty rough affairs anyway, and clearly not in any way authoritative. The worst culprits are those who are only distantly related - many times removed. I've found those who are more closely related are more respectful and willing to collaborate and reference and share (properly).
