Hi, My mother's first cousin, Thomas Humphries was killed in a shooting incident in 1908, whilst he was a child at the Remuera Children's home. I have been unable to find out much about the home other than it was originally in Ponsonby, then in Remuera, then in Manurewa. Paperspast has also much info on the shooting incident. Graham, my mother was in an Anglican children's home in Grey Lynn in the 1920s and I got her records from the Anglican Diocese office. If you can find out who ran the home you could contact them. Try Wises Post Office directories - they are on Ancestry now.
