    3. Very relevant indeed Ray... I’m always picking up discrepancies on many sites that I use, not just ancestry... cemetery databases are shocking and NZ Dept Internal Affairs historical BDM indexes... always writing to these sites to advise... in fact with some i do a spread sheet and send! Yes some are ‘informant’ errors but it is good for them to be noted. I do much research on grave photos I take, not just family research and also am volunteer researcher for a cemetery group Trust so find high percentages of errors. Cheers – have a fabulous long weekend people! Get stuck into that research! Even in my own research I've noticed it, that's why unless you can sight actual documentation and not 'transcriptions', the ancestry information should not be trusted - and even in some of those instances actual documentation can still be wrong. Hopefully Ancestry are on to this, however if they were, I'd have thought they'd have pulled the information until it was amended. I checked a few births and I know they were born in Fairlie or Timaru and not the Chathams.
