    3. Hello Beth. There is some information on the NZSG Version 5 CD and it looks as though they lived near Upper Moutere. A number of German families settled in that area in the mid-1800s. I suggest you get in touch with the Motueka Historical Association or the Nelson Branch of the NZSG as they may have further information. Will send contact details off list.     3. There are none buried in the Tasman District which would include both the German settlements at Ranzau (Hope) and Upper Moutere. There are a couple buried in Wakapuaka Cemetery in Nelson city (see below) which are very likely to be related. You can look at them on Nelson City Council website - just type in Nelson City Council Cemetery database on GOOGLE and that should bring it up. The various dates are dates of death, dates of burial and dates plots were purchased - often the date of purchase was the last thing that happened. If you can get someone to look in the Nelson Evening Mail for death notices around that time that may be of some help to you - you may find out if they were a couple or if there were any children.
