REMUERA CHILDREN'S HOME. LAYING FOUNDATION STONE. A large number of ladies and gentlemen interested in the Children's Home at Remuera, in connection with the Baptist Church, assembled this afternoon for the purpose of witness ing the ceremony of laying four foundation stones of the new building. There was the usual display of bunting, and at the close of the function afternoon tea was provided. This Home was founded by the F.ev. W. Burch and Mr. Robert Fry in October, 1893, being first lt-ated in Venaont Street, Ponsonby, and sixteen years later was vested in the Baptist Union of New Zealand. - I'm not sure how you'd contact Baptist authorities - try Archway at National Archives. Hi Jeanette, Thanks very much for that and the suggestion to contact the Baptist Union. I have done that and also the Carey Library as Ailsa Dodge suggested.
