Reminds me of the lady I worked with for over 3 years, she swore blind that her father was Edward V111, and who her mother was, I never for one second believed her story, but worked on it very hard over the years, and still on it, as there is more to it than she realised. I even wrote to Clarence House about her, as she was claiming three million pounds inheritance from the powers to be... But doing this history taught me more of the Royal family than I already knew, it was actually very interesting... We had to prove that the story was not true... also her story about during the War, she escaped Prison in Christchurch, made her way to Wellington, boarded a ship to Germany and her friend over there, put her on a submarine back to NZ.. a likely story that was on a German submarine with all male submariners... and one woman on board... tell you it had the German Archives wondering who was this woman.. I had a historian helping me sort out the tales.. She still does not believe me, says I am lying with the story... not so lady, I speak the truth... the whole truth and nothing but the truth... Folk say didnt you believe the story, I said no we had to prove that it was fiction so we kept on at it..I never charged her for my research, even out of pocket getting certificates, but tell you it was interesting none the less... -- Adele Pentony-Graham Carterton Cemetery Clareville Researcher Carterton Researcher. and Featherston.
