    3. Hi Judith I forwarded your request onto a member of our Genealogy group, who is very knowledgeable on the Pirongia district. I hope his reply is helpful. Regards Linda Te Awamutu Genealogy Message: 14 Date: Wed, 05 Mar 2014 22:59:27 +1300 From: Judith Harper <quester@orcon.net.nz> Subject: [nz] Pharpharnua Farm, Whata Whata Hoe, Pirongia To: NZ Rootsweb list <new-zealand@rootsweb.com> Message-ID: <5316F57F.6040002@orcon.net.nz> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed My grandmother Elsie Beet wrote the above address in a reading book in about 1914. She was about 14 years old and her writing is neat and decisive so I guess she knew her address but then I wonder about the spelling of Maori at that time. So can anyone please tell me what or where Whata Whata Hoe is? I know about Whatawhata but that seems too far away to be included under Pirongia. Any ideas please? And how might Pharpharnua be understood these days? Thanks. Judith Harper Nelson, NZ
