    1. [nz] Microsoft XP Drivers UPDATE
    2. Hi Listers. I'm a senior citizen user of Microsoft XP. What should I do in response to the on line advertising which say I should update the XP Drivers on my PC? Thanks in advance, Greg

    3. Really speaking Greg you shouldn't be using XP to connect with the Internet any more, as it will be subject to many vulnerabilities you won't be protected against. If you still want to connect then go ahead and update. If you just use it as a standalone computer (without connecting) you should have no need to update drivers. 3. Don't worry about those Driver adverts. However the XP version of Microsoft Internet Explorer is no longer safe to access the internet. Suggest you download Firefox browser from Mozilla until you can upgrade your computer. -----Original Message----- From: new-zealand-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:new-zealand-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of kayandgregb@xtra.co.nz Sent: Friday, 11 July 2014 2:26 p.m. To: NEW-ZEALAND@rootsweb.com Subject: [nz] Microsoft XP Drivers UPDATE Hi Listers. 2. Hi I agree especially if you only download emails from known senders, don't run email attachments from unknown sources and don't browse dodge websites ... i.e. use safe internet practices. if you are running something like Norton as a security and or virus protection, that should address most issues. Make sure that you do regular backups of you data and emails. if you feel inclined to add to Bill Gate's $billions, then take the advice and upgrade ... but I wouldn't bother. At some future point, you will replace your machine when something physical happens at which time the operating system issue will be solved by default.
