Hi Reading the ekit I wondered if perhaps an online explanation of HOW TO download the full WWI file from Archives for the benefit of members who dont know how to do it?? It really is easy as pie Log on to Archives search the name bring up the name click on the "view or download file" click on name listed under "digitised records" On the LEFT SIDE of the screen you will see the words "Preservation Master" with a list of pagenumbers click on the wee arrow on the left to 'pull up' the numbers and up will pop the words "DERIVATIVE COPY" Click on "Image 1" UNDER the words Derivative Copy NOT on the RH side then up will pop "Table of contents" click on the wee arrow to the left of 'table of contents' and "image 1" (UNDER 'table of contents')will appea,r click on that and the complete file in PDF formatwill appear on the right side and up the top RH side of the pdf page you will see the wee icon for downloading it. It isnt hard and we all should learn to do this as it is obviously the way Archives has been set up. It works I havent had a problem and I have accessed about 15 files in the last week or so. Hope this helps print out the above and sit it beside you as you go through the motions cheers Patsy
Hello Patsy, OK I have just tried that to download my father's digitised file. I get to "Preservation Master" and it shows the Table of Contents listing of page numbers. Click on the PM arrow and the numbers disappear as stated - but "Derivative Copy" doesn't come up. Have I missed something? Not working for me ...
