I hope I am on the right page. I am needing some help with ordering a birth cert and marriage certificate for around 1870's. I notice there are two that can be ordered. A printout copy and I cannot remember the other one. But I am needing the hand written copy. Which one would that be when I order it? Thank you. Hi Lori, All your questions can be answered by taking a look around the site https://www.bdmhistoricalrecords.dia.govt.nz/ Look under the "Data Collected" option in the menu down the left-hand side of the screen. For each type of event they tell you what information you will find on a printout versus what you'll find on a certificate. Always get the printout for family history purposes. Only get the certificate when you need it for legal purposes. The "Data Collected" area also tells you exactly what data should have been collected at the time. Some earlier events (eg marriages before about 1880) don't record enough information to be of practical use for us. Also look at the "Payments & Products" option on the web site, for a description of the various 'products' on offer here. You'll find more information under the other menu items, which will probably answer questions you haven't thought to ask yet. Take a little time to check it out properly. Hope this helps. :-) Wendy kiwi said the following on 6/04/2014 11:14 a.m.: > I hope I am on the right page.
