Hi, can anyone please give me some idea how long this trip would have taken and what type of boat? Many thanks Margaret

An examination of of the two Wanganui newspapers of that time indicate that a sea voyages between Wanganui and Picton direct did not occur. To travel between these 2 places one would have to go via Wellington. The best that could be located was a trip by Paddle Steamer "Charles Edward" in the opposite directon (see snippet below) Calculated passage time being 15 hours.
