I am looking to make contact with the family of Irene Alice KERR, born on 25 March 1917 at Westport, daughter of Reginald and Emily Kerr (nee Penno). Irene was a nurse at the Central Park Hospital in Brooklyn, Wellington, a benevolent home for the elderly. She married Earle Vaughan Pickering on 2 December 1939 at St. Peter's Church, Wellington, just prior to him embarking for overseas service as a Driver in Petrol Company. Earle was killed in action on 21 May 1941 near the village of Galatas, Crete. Irene moved to Hamilton where I understand she lived with a brother in Frankton. She married William Lindsay, aged 31, at St. Peter's Anglican Cathedral, Hamilton on 2 February 1946. She passed away on 4 September 1947, aged 30, at Hastings. There were no children of either marriage. I am related to Irene’s first husband Earle, and I have contact with the family of her second husband, William. I would very much like to make contact with her own family, the KERRS if anyone is out there. More information can be found on my Rootsweb page: http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~onmymothersside/genealogy/pickering/pickeringkerr.shtml (which is finally available again! Woo hoo!)
