I just googled my grandfather and found a query dated Feb 12, 2010. Perhaps someone could respond to the original Enquirer, as their identifier isn't an actual email address: it's Jen_min4(a)bigpond.net.au I can fill in some background, if they're still interested: - my mother, who died last month, was the elder daughter of Cecil Chetwyn Thomas Harris and his first wife. She was called Roma Laura, nee Hinton. They married in Te Aroha in 1928 (5 September or thereabouts). They had 2 daughters: Diane Blanche, born 6 December 1929 in Hawera, and Lynette Louise, born 5 July 1934 or 1935 (probably in Auckland) - he was working as a schoolmaster (and seems that's why they lived for a time in Hawera) and by 1935 they had based themselves in Auckland where he taught maths at Mt Albert Grammar School and his nickname was 'sticky' referring the the cane he must have carried with him and used a lot. - he eventually moved to the USA, continuing to work in education, remarried and eventually died in 1959 - Uncle Vere moved to Australia and had a family there. There was a woman called Shirley, who must have been his daughter I think, who contacted my mother and grandmother in the 1970s to renew family ties - Uncle Arthur had been a policeman but then turned to farming and lived with Una and their 5 children at Miranda, not far south of Auckland. They are all still alive, but Arthur and Una have gone now. - my mother's sister Lynette, still lives in Los Angeles where she went in the late 1950s to be with her father after turning 21. She has 3 sons from her marriage )which ended in divorce, and her ex-husband is now also deceased) Hope this addresses some of your queries. I've never even seen my great grandmother's grave in Wellington, so might have to make an effort next time I'm there. Thanks, and Kind regards Simon Dodd
