I have a photo of seven women on the fore deck of the Manuwai just prior to sailing down river to the Health Camp at Port Waikato. My mother (Enid Barrett) is one of the five younger women who are probably in their late teens or early twenties. There are two older women present. My understanding is that the Health Camp was largely run by Hilda Ross who became a Member of Parliament and was later knighted. I have often wondered if she might be one of the two older women in the photo? Would any lister like to have a look and offer an opinion. Murray Reid Tuakau.
