Hi Carol and others that may be interested I think you are the same issue that many of us have, in that it is ok to read on archway but when downloaded you cannot read or print due to the quality. Download the free program called IrfanView (has no adds etc and ok to use), then download the WW1 files in the format they are saved in which is jp2 (latest jpg version with the least amount of lossess) >From within that program you can then either print the A4 sheet or Save As and save into any of the older file formats you know, eg jpg or Tif. I am not associated with the above program, but have used it for quite some time and find it really good for all sorts of image adjustments or conversions. 1. Go to http://genealogy.org.nz/ 2. Log in as a member of NZSG (this is a member-only resource) 3. Hover over "Members Area" in blue bar near top of screen 4. When new menu pops up, go down to Record Collections, another menu will appear to the side 5. Click on "District Keys to the New Zealand Registration Indexes" 6. Follow instructions provided. Note that this is for births and deaths only, for the folio numbers that you get from the old microfiche indexes. It does not work for the registration numbers you get from the BDM web site. Hello, The Wellington City Council Archives shows that 17,19 Rugby Street in 1922 had a Drainage connection plan submitted by Titoki Investments Ltd This seems to be the only reference to this address on file. Regards Alister Gould Invercargill
Hi Lori: The householder listed in the 1922 Wises Directory for 19 Rugby Street, Wellington was Smith, Wm, carrier (also for 1923). However in 1921 the householder was Compton Thos, builder; and No 19 was not shown in 1920. The Wises Directories were published in January of each year according to the introduction, so presumably compiled late in the previous year. Hi, The above husband and wife were born in Lancashire and came to NZ on the Victory in 1863. They lived in Rangiora for many years. Does anyone on the list have this family in their tree. If so I would like to hear from you. Thanks, Calvin

Tony, Places of birth registrations are shown in booklets prepared for the NZSG called the District Keys. (Note: place of registration does not necessarily mean place of birth). If you're not a member of NZSG you may find the booklets at your local library. Are you talking about the online BDMs? my understanding is that the folio numbers don't refer to the place of registration unfortunately, unlike the ones on microfiche. Could anyone point me to a web site which would allow me to identify where Folio numbers were entered on NZ BMD's. (I have a list of births, with folio numbers and year date which if I could determine where these children were registered, would give me some idea of where the family was at the time of registration.) thank you. Hello Angie, I'm a Vodafone/Telstra Clear customer on the Wellington cable network and have the same issue - I tried to contact their support about a half hour ago and there was a pre-recorded message saying there is an issue with accessing overseas websites "and they're trying to resolve the issue ASAP" It's been like this for since about this time yesterday - very frustrating. I've had to resort to using my phone 3G to access Ancestry and FreeBMD.
