    3. Thanks very much for these Jeanette. I am looking for a child who would have been around the age of 9 or 10 and hopefully attending a school in the Dannevirke area circa 1915. No joy at all on Paperspast. Interloan could be the answer. It is a splendid service. 3. Hi Murray I have Revo Uninstall downloaded on my computer - it is free and great - everyone should use it. I am always trying new programs and if not what I want, I know with this it does a complete 2 stage uninstall which leaves no ghosting behind. To operate it correctly, click on revo uninstall in your program lists - a window will open and all you program icons will be displayed. Click the one you want to get rid of. It will chuff through a moderate uninstall and then will say it is finished - DO NOT FINISH - click to go BACK and then do an advanced uninstall During each of the 2 stage process, a window opens with a list of boxes showing what is still in your computer - you select all and then click delete - sometimes to make very sure my computer is very clean after doing the advanced install I go back and do a repeat run just to be sure all is gone. Much better than relying on a program uninstall Regards, Winsome ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave H via" <new-zealand@rootsweb.com> To: "mhhr" <mhhr@xtra.co.nz> Cc: "Rootsweb NZ" <NEW-ZEALAND@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, October 26, 2014 10:54 AM Subject: Re: [nz] Computer Help Please > Hi Murray, > > Well there's been not much in the way of emails on any lists I'm on this > morning so don't let that worry you :-) > > You'll find java is pretty standard on most windows pc's these days and > somethings just won't work without it. I always update to the latest version when prompted as the update is usually related to a tightening up of a security flaw in java - current version seems to be Version 8 Update 25 available from http://www.java.com/en/ You'll find a "Java" entry under control panel which will bring up the Java Control Panel assuming it's installed correctly. 3. Hi folks, I am still on the hunt for anything relating to my late grandfather, composer/songwriter in WW1/2 period and this afternoon I found another snippet of information which some might find amusing/interesting. I found one mention which states <quote> H.E.V.B., India <end quote> can anyone please tell me what the "H.E.V.B" stands for? Dear old "Pop" as he loved his family to call him, apparently also called himself "Northan Southe" which I've discovered was a pseudonym my grandfather often gave as the author of one of his many compositions back in the 1930s. If any list members have old sheet music or songs composed by JJ.Stroud I'd love to hear from you. Cheers Ainslie Pyne woodart@woodart.com.au Cheers Ainslie.
