    2. It’s real pity that the Bulford kiwi is barely maintained these days. A group of locals have apparently weeded it recently but when we visited in October last year, the kiwi was barely visible. Trees have been allowed to grow up around it and visitors are not exactly welcome because it is located on Defence Force land. 3. After these answers I think there must have been two hotels, the Wynyard Tavern was still called that in 1902, when my relative had the lease, and after him it went to Mr Charles Bishop. I really have a feeling the one in 1902 was in Onehunga, in the main street. Maybe the one at Onehunga was named after the first one? Then 3 children baptised 25/3/1858. Louis b 1849, Elizabeth b 1852, Emma b 1856. Then 1 child baptised 20/1/1859. Harriet b 1858. So they were still in England in early 1859. At least 5 children. 3. I have looked at the cemetery record for the above, and find he was buried at Kelvin Grove cemetery in Section A, Block 6 with no headstone, which is the case for most of this block - suggesting they were not the more affluent citizens.  The burial database gives his occupation as electrical linesman.    Having worked with these records extensively I would not regard the age discrepancy as necessarily ruling him out, as many folk seem to have had inaccurate ages recorded at that period.  You really need to view the death certificate, and if it does not state parents I suggest looking at a possible marriage in 1926.
