Please help by adding this to the website. Ernest William Wright is believed to have died in New Zealand around 1960 - a public notice appeared in the Melbourne Sun seeking contact with his two sons, Frederick Alexander and William John Charles Wright. There was a daughter Jessie born 1915 who married Groves in Melbourne in the 1930’s. Ernest was born in Bairnsdale Victoira in 1877, he married Charlotte Catherine Henry in Bairnsdale in 1909 and she died in Sydney in 1917. The two sons, aged about 4 and 6 years, were returned to their maternal grandparents and is seems Jessie remained in his care. Those that had contact re his very small estate in the 1960’s recall his death was in New Zealand. Contact with Jessie’s family was short lived (1960’s) and those that did have since died. Contact with Jessie’s (one of) children have advised that their mother never recalled her childhood! Can anyone help - did he remarry into another family in New Zealand, when did he arrive, was Jessie with him. I am guessing he arrived in the vicinity of 1920’s likely from Sydney possibly with a child or can anyone suggest possible references I can research. Elizabeth
Hi Sue , A Mary Elizabeth WIGGINS was living at Broadwood , Northland , in 1949. However she was listed on the electoral roll as 'married' No mention of her name on the Far North Cemeteries Database http://www.fndc.govt.nz/search/search-cemetery-record Cheers, Ray On Thu, Jan 15, 2015 at 8:56 PM, subarn via <new-zealand@rootsweb.com> wrote: > Hello List > > I am trying to find my relative's death index and his burial place, he is > believed to have died on 05/09/1935 in Christchurch, NZ his name is > WIGGINS, George William (aged 58). > > His wife WIGGINS, Mary Elizabeth died in 1952 (1952/21058) I would like > her burial place also. > > If anyone is able to help I would greatly appreciate it, thank you. > > Regards > > Sue Barnes > Victoria > Australia > > > The List Guidelines > > http://new-zealand-l.blogspot.com/ > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > NEW-ZEALAND-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message >

I am searching for information about a mission house/station that was at Waikaretu. I know that by 1920 it was used as a residence and no longer a mission house/station. Can any one advise where/how I could find out more about this mission house. Thanks, Rose
Hi Judy The service was held in Grange Manor, Dominion Road and followed by private cremation. Davis Funeral Directors were in charge. No other details about where cremated, you could contact them. Just finished something I started 4 months ago, I decided to go though all my NZ Male people and add their occupations, from the NZ electoral rolls that are on ancestry, The rolls are only up to 1981, in fact I doubt that all of 1981 is there as there were at lot I couldn't find for 1981, the reason I only did males was most women are listed as married etc not what they do. If you are using the electoral rolls for anything be aware Ancestry have transcribed some incorrectly, ie Mt Victoria, Wellington comes up as Mt Victoria Auckland, so as always look at the scans, sometime you find the adult children still living at home handy, Cheers Jenny I DON'T do Mornings!!!!! I have knowledge of a SIXTUS family who I believe lived in the area of Caanon at the top of Takaka Hill, Tasman District. The children went to Riwaka School. I cannot remember the names of the children. The era would have been late 1940's into 1950's and possibly beyond.
