    3. With the "great World Circus" touring NZ 1866-7 and mostly equestrian based.it is pretty certain, it was from there he came. With most circus artitistes using a stage name, it would be difficult to single out just which one was he, in the many advertisments in Papers Past.He may have also left the circus to marry Annetta, and where he went afterwards so far remains a mystery. cheers penne ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lori Adkins via" <new-zealand@rootsweb.com> To: <new-zealand@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, February 16, 2015 6:07 PM Subject: Re: [nz] NEW-ZEALAND Digest, Vol 10, Issue 20 > Hit a brick wall and suggestions WENTWORTH KENTWORTH > > I have tried every possability and sources I can think of to find Alfred > WENTWORTH. 3. Thanks to Karen Hitchcock, I now have the answer to the following. Cheers Ron Hi List, Following with my query about Margaret Emily VINCENT, I now ask the following. In 1942 she was pregnant with a child. The father of that child was killed in an accident that year at the Miramar Brick Works. What I want to know, is who was this person. TIA Ron

    3. High List, Thanks to all those kind persons who offered me advise on the AINSWORTH - ROBERTS, several of you I have thanked off line and I have given more information to them. It seems that the person that asked me to find out about this couple, is now not interested. As a result of that, I have thrown the towel in, and will not be doing anymore research for them. 3. Hi Murray, Always get the printout for family history purposes. :-) It will contain all the information gathered at the time (barring any 'sensitive' data such as illegitimacy or adoption, etc), whereas the certificate will contain only what the law says it must contain - which is often not everything recorded. For events after 1874, the printout is cheaper. The printout is usually (barring that 'sensitive' stuff above) a simple photocopy of the Registrar's book, while the certificate is typed up on demand - incurring increased risk of transcription errors creeping in. And you might just get original signatures on the printout, if you're lucky. The BDM web site tells you what data was collected and what appears on the certificate - see the "Data Collected" tab at https://bdmhistoricalrecords.dia.govt.nz/Home/ Hope this helps. :-) Wendy mhhr via wrote on 16/02/2015 11:51: > I am about to order records from BDM online concerning a female birth in 1876, where the child may have Maori blood. > > My first questions is, which document will give the most information, The Birth Certificate or The Birth Printout? > > Secondly, what is either record likely to show? > > Thirdly, if the child has Maori heritage will the percentage/fraction be shown. > > Thanks > > Murray Reid. >

    3. I am about to order records from BDM online concerning a female birth in 1876, where the child may have Maori blood. My first questions is, which document will give the most information, The Birth Certificate or The Birth Printout? Secondly, what is either record likely to show? Thirdly, if the child has Maori heritage will the percentage/fraction be shown. Thanks Murray Reid.

    3. Hit a brick wall and suggestions WENTWORTH KENTWORTH I have tried every possability and sources I can think of to find Alfred WENTWORTH. He married my ancestor Annetta GORDON on 25th September 1868 in Dunedin. I have the intention to marry which shows Alfred had been in Dunedin for 3 months Annetta 3 days. They were married at the Manse, Dunedin which I found out is the place where the minister lives and not the First Church where Rev. Geo Sutherland was the minister. Apparently if a woman was married previously she could not be married in the church. I have the printout copy and the marriage certificate which shows Alfred was a circus rider. The witness or "In presence of" were Elizabeth Godfrey and G. Sutherland. On the NZ bdm website it lists Alfred's surname as KENTWORTH but is WENTWORTH on the certicate. I cannot find any information what soever on this man in NZ. The closet thing I have found is a passenger named WENTWORTH arriving in Dunedin in July 1868 from Bluff. But nothing else. Would anyone have any ideas on what other places I could search for him or have any ideas what to try next. I know his wife was not with him in 1870. 3. The G R Macdonald Dictionary of Canterbury Biographies is finally on-line. There is a feature where you can make lists and email them to yourself. http://collection.canterburymuseum.com/search.do?highlight=17 It is one of the most valuable and widely used sources of information on Canterbury people. The G R Macdonald Dictionary of Canterbury Biographies, presented in 1964, represents twelve years of his research and is made up of around 12,500 entries on nineteenth century Cantabrians. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nzlscant/macdonald.htm#Chronicler

    3. Hi I have hopefully found a connection with my husband’s family in Gloucestershire. How do I find their postal address without having to pay for it? I have checked sites (BT etc) and have found that they are still alive. The people are: Sylvia and Edward Hewer living in Upton Cheyney, Bristol, Gloucestershire. Does anyone have any hints how I might find the rest of the postal address? thanks Sherron Harrison

    3. Hello Sherron Have you tried subscribing to the Bristol and Somerset and/or Bristol & Districts rootsweb lists. There are some very helpful people on these two lists. As your family members are still living, it is probably best NOT to use their names on the rootsweb lists, but rather ask for help in the Upton Cheyney, Bristol area and correspond with a lister/listers OFF LIST. Hope this helps you Kind regards Sandra Melbourne, Vic, Australia -----Original Message----- From: new-zealand-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:new-zealand-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Sherron Harrison via Sent: Thursday, 12 February 2015 3:41 p.m. To: rootsweb Subject: [nz] Address in UK - Hewer Hi I have hopefully found a connection with my husband’s family in Gloucestershire.
