Written as Fred, is a passenger , a Fitter, leaving Southampton 18 Feb. 1921 for New Zealand. In 1923 in Wellington, age 22 years, a Pipe Fitter, usual residence, Petone, he married Janet MARR. His Father is also Frederick Charles Newlyn, a Brick Layer. Subsequently Frederick shows in Electoral rolls in that area. 3. Mary Scrymgeour was born 3 June 1890 and died as Mary Scrymgeour CURLE in 1975 in South Canterbury. I don't have any info yet. Who did she marry? There must be a spelling variation with the surname. What is her connection to Mary wife of the late James Schymgeour, merchant, Glasgow, died in South Canterbury, 2nd June 1865, aged 71 years. Family probably came in through Dunedin.

    1. Re: [nz] Wills - Time frame
    2. John Wilson via
    3. Hi Pam: Re wills/probates from the Auckland court held at Archives Auckland, from the Research Guide no 2 on Personal Identity, thec Auckland probate files are Agency BBAE and BAZZ, with recent probates from 1985 to 1993 being in BAZZ series 1570. Checking on archway for BAZZ series 1570, there are probate files up to 1997 only (indexed by name) so more recent files would still be held by the Supreme Court. There are more recent files up to about 2010 not related to wills/probates held by archives, and many of them are restricted. I doubt if Archives accept new files which are not indexed by name, although for earlier papers you may get from Archway an indication that the item wanted is in a container of items and further information is required. See eg: http://www.archway.archives.govt.nz/ViewFullItem.do?code=9399909 Yours, John Wilson > Can any one tell me the time frame in which a will in the Auckland area > would appear in archives. > > Looking for about 12 years ago, know it is not in Achway but would it > still be out at the archives. > > Many thanks for any help > > Pam >
