    2. hilton doidge
    3. Hi Penne... Thank you very much for your assistance in managing to have a ground map of the above cemetery sent to me from Napier City Council, it came complete with the gravesite I was looking for marked very clearly, including a photo... [all I had to do was walk about 10 metres from where I parked my car]! For anyone searching the NCC operated cemeteries they have pulled some of their databases off-line due to a current audit... The ones that are back online are.. Wharerangi, Western Hills and Eskdale, found at... http://www.napier.govt.nz/services/napier-cemeteries/cemetery-database/ ... Others will be added as they are completed... Btw Penne I thoroughly enjoyed my 'afternoon tea' with the Napier Mayor in his chamber at the Royal Humane Society Presentation to my 15 yr-old grandson for a bravery award [medal and certificate] for his part in an offshore rescue at Waipatiki Beach in Jan 2013... So thank you also for your kind words toward that... >From a very proud grandfather... Hilton Doidge Waikato

    3. Would it not be the different Churches who would own the registers? If that is the case one would need to approach them for permission to transcribe them, and if NZSG had a part in transcribing it may be them who gives permission ......just saying my tuppence worth!  I for one have Many old families in Christchurch I research and have found Beverleys contributions a great help, let us all stand behind her in support of carrying on her wonderful work! 3. Beth, Which Lutheran Church was he Confirmed in ? There is a Film at the National Library, Wellington, I read it some years ago. Has the Mauriceville Church , Wairarapa , Danish Lutheran Church records. I do not remember what years it covered, except was very early 1900's. Has the 1906 Baptism of my Father in Law, and a Confirmation of his elder brother ( born 1890 ). All in Danish. I wonder if the first Certificate was lost, or only recorded in the Church Books. It does seem that in later times all Lutheran Church records are found together. My ggg aunt Sarah CAMERON Campbell died at 'The Molyneaux' on 24 February 1863 - there is a death notice in the Daily Southern Cross (Auckland, where several of her family lived) on 21 March 1863. She left a husband and young family of six children, the youngest born on 1 February 1863, according to family information. I can find no death to match her in the online BDM, nor any birth for the recent daughter Mary. 3. Hi Beverley, As one who has benefited hugely from your efforts, please don't just give up. What you've done with your transcripts is to provide a genealogical resource that is not just a Christchurch-wide facility, but New Zealand-wide, in fact a world-wide resource. Please do find out from the library why they said what they said, and who does have the intellectual property (IP) rights. If there is someway as a membership list of this forum we can "protest" or approach the IP owner en masse, count me in! I'm not sure about the copyright rules on this one, but usually there is an expert at a university, if you want to contact Canterbury University and ask. They might be able to stop her doing more, which we all agree is a shame. But the owner of rights needs to be found and Beverley can negotiate with them. 3. Hello Beverley/all, This is illogical on the library’s part. Why are the cards in a public place, freely available to copy? The internet is a public place - in this case a specific genealogical source. I have cited these records on my website as well. Shall I remove them now? Should Internal Affairs remove its BDM data because their source is the same as these cards? I can’t see why Beverley can’t put a copyright statement on her site, in the same way as surely the library has a similar statement. PC gone haywire again. I think we need to follow this up as a group. Beverley’s transcriptions are a boon to us particularly those not in Christchurch. Regards, Bryan Sent from Windows Mail
