I see a Margaret Fallon married John McMaster in 1928 and they were living at Hilderthorpe according to the 1928 electoral roll. I think the above record should relate to the DIA Index Deaths 1924/782 FALLON William aged 46 years. (Date narrows down to 17 February 1924 although I note the difference in age recorded from DIA Death Index and Cemetery record). I could not locate a probate or newspaper Death Notice entry for the above. This William possibly married Margaret GOUDLING in 1922. In 1925 Margaret FALLON of Hilderthorpe is recorded as a widow on electoral rolls. This is not the William FALLON (possibly WW1 60922) who married Annie Elizabeth CAMPBELL in 1921. There appears to have been two William FALLONs in the Waimate Oamaru region 1914-1924 era. Thank you Nivard for the full explanation that some others may have not been aware of. I am surprised that there has been no public announcement regarding Ancestry. It is a Worldwide Group and the whole system has been let down, particularly its paying customers for weeks now. A short tag on some Ancestry pages and on their "Help" folder, doesn't reach their millions of customers I would suggest. Certainly here in Australia there has been no media news of it at all, except TV advertisements suggesting we all join Ancestry.com.au. Let's hope we're all over the worst of it now......wait and see at present anyway. Hi List Anyone in Greytown know anything about a Catholic Church which was originally in Rangiwhahia, then shifted to Taupo before moving to Greytown, where it was used as a wedding venue. Is this the same one as the Sacred Heart in the main street? This query is for Sue King who is having trouble getting into the NZ Rootsweb list. Any replies to the list please.

HI wondered if anyone else is having any problems with the list as I havn't received any posts from either this or the Tasmania list in several days and am now wondering if it has anything to do with the recent problems with Ancestry. Mabel
Have been hearing that service to Rootsweb has been restored, following the DDOS attack on Ancestry's sites last week, so posting this in the hopes that it gets through. No need to reply to this, just know that you can get on with posting to the list once again! :-) Wendy
Hi everyone Can someone on the list please contact me at annesteve.westley@gmail.com Cheers Steve westley Steve & Anne, Grafton, Jacaranda City annesteve.westley@gmail.com

Hi All: There are early inquests from the 1840s & 1850s in Archives which are not indexed in Archway by surname. Some are in the IA series (Colonial Secretary?) and some in early justice series. There is a book "Touching on Death" by Laurie Gluckman on early Auckland inquests. I have seen a 1949 inquest file for Lucy Hollard, Died Karori (old ref National Archives box J 46/1). Lucy (born 1844) died 11 December 1849 a 5y, she was burnt to death when her dress caught alight from a stump c100 yards from the house. Her father pulled his coat off to smother the flames, and Lucy lived for an hour. Inquest held 12 December at Karori. She was the daughter of Charles and Anne Hollard.
