Not that this will satisfy everyone, but maybe it will do. I well know that nothing ever remains the same. Given enough time everything changes. Mountains become sand hills and the pattern of star in the night sky will change. But will conflicting outlooks of human nature change? 3. Hi Liz, et al. Just checked with the NZSG, they are happy to receive any certificates by email, and you can send them to the Projects Officer, Carole, at [email protected] Paper is better because it lasts longer, but they will print them there & send on to the Certificate Collection. I am sure that Carole would welcome an influx of emails - and yes, she has been warned <g> Anne Date: Fri, 24 Jun 2016 10:15:15 +0300 From: STANLEY ELIZABETH <[email protected]> Hi All, I have a different beef with the "Unwanted" BDM certificates service from NZSG ! Last time I looked (and if things have changed I'm sorry!) certificates have to be physically sent in paper form to the appropriate person. As most of us know BDMs are sent to us in PDF form for several years now. Why can't we just send them on like that ??? I live in Greece which makes snail-mail prohibitive and I have over 400 BDMs which I would love to share with the NZSG. I wrote to them a couple of years ago about this but my letter must have got lost in their Office Manager re-shuffles. Cheers, Liz Stanley

    3. Hi Jonathan: If you are still undecided, looking at their death notices will usually (unless not recent) give their immediate family, I could check Christchurch papers on microfilm (The Press (morning) or the Christchurch Star (evening) ) . The Registrar-Generals historic website has their deaths (and being 1972+ gives their birthdate, not just their age at death). They are (date found by gradually restricting the search range): William Roydon Turvey: died 18 Oct 1989 a 80y, born 11 Feb 1909. Annie Isabella Turvey: died 26 Mar 1989 a 80y, born 10 Sept 1908. See RG website: https://www.bdmhistoricalrecords.dia.govt.nz/search/ Sometimes “sensitive” coroners inquests may indicate suicide, but here it may just be because inquests are restricted for 70 years (was 50 years). I got my grandfather’s 1966 inquest a few years ago under the Official Information Act when I requested it from Justice, with addresses of witnesses redacted out. Yours, John Wilson Hi Listers, My late wife had relatives who migrated to NZ; and I have been attempting to trace descendants. One of them married a William Roydon ( or Royden ) TURVEY born 1909 died 1989. His wife died a few months earlier. Their marriage was on 18 April 1935. Until this week the only child I knew of was Joan who was born and died in 1940. The online index of NZ Deaths shows another possible child : William Roydon TURVEY born 5 April 1936 died 23 Sept 2005. There is a Probate for the older William ( Christchurch High Court ) in 1989. Plus a Coroners Inquest File for 1990 (sensitive information). I would FIRST like to prove that the two William's were father & son; before expanding the search for living relatives. Please can anyone help ? Cheers Jonathan in Toronto, Canada
