    3. I agree that Beverley is doing a wonderful job with all the cemeteries she has been photographing. I know from my experience of doing all the Dunedin cemeteries that the easiest and quickest part is the actual taking of the photo. It is the downloading, cropping and naming the photo that takes the time but the end results are very rewarding. I also had the advantage of having a copy of the DCC database in Block and Plot order which I don't think Beverley will have from CCC. Hopefully some other list member may volunteer to help Beverley with Waimairi as it is a very large cemetery. Keep up the wonderful work Beverley. Please give us an idea how many hours you spent photographing the graves? How many hours placing the data online? Probably double the time putting the data online. How many headstones? How many headstones not in good repair? approx. %? Any hand made headstones? I was able to correct a couple of spelling mistakes with Waimairi vs Waimari. 3. Olwyn Many thanks for posting this, it's a resource I had no idea existed. For me, an especiallyAn emotional read, some of the letters clearly detail deaths in the same battle that my father was injured in. He was a lucky one and survived. As far as I can figure out, some of these were in closely related units, and would have been the mates and events he never spoke about. Thanks again, and if there are more I'd love to read them. I see you have Jessie Mackay there. quotation on her headstone is taken from the first and last lines of this poem. A SHEEP MAN'S PRAYER Lord of the sheep in the upland ways, The snow locked plains and rocks And the mazy, dazzling drift that kills, Have mercy on thy flocks Lord of the men that fear and seek, Thyself went seeking too, For frozen hearts in a drift of sin Fight thou our battle through! 3. First of all Jocelyn are we talking about the Legacy Family Tree program from Millennia? If we are their latest version is this: Installed Version: 8.0.0.586 of 7 Dec 2016. I have no problems with it.  It may be better to use Legacy's Help from the Legacy program itself or pick up the Legacy User Group mailing list here: http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/LegacyLists.asp (copy and paste) or I'm pretty sure there's an archive there you can search for your problem. 3. Jo, check out http://support.legacyfamilytree.com/article/AA-01021/0/Windows-10-and-Legacy.html - (copy below) especially the last sentence. Cheers Dave H. Will Legacy Family Tree run on Windows 10? Yes. If you are planning on upgrading your Windows operating system to Windows 10, please note that Legacy Family Tree will run on Windows 10, but you might need to re-install it because upgrading the operating system can cause problems for programs. To do a fresh download of Legacy Family Tree Deluxe, please visit Download Legacy <http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/DownloadUpdate.asp> and use your Legacy customer number to unlock the deluxe features. For older versions and earlier please visit Downloads for Previous Versions of Legacy Family Tree <http://support.legacyfamilytree.com/article/AA-00899/0> and use your customer number to unlock the deluxe features. If you get an error message when starting Legacy in Windows 10, try right clicking the Legacy shortcut icon on your desktop and go to Properties and then go to the Compatibility tab. At the bottom put a check mark in the *Run this program as an administrator*. That will set the option permanently. Now try and open Legacy as it should open fine now. 3. THE FERNGLEN IMMIGRANTS. BY TELEGRAPH-PER PRESS AGENCY. Wellington, Jan 8. The Evening Chronicle, referring to the remainder o the *Fernglen* 's immigrants, says : — The local immigration officer made strenuous endeavour to persuade them to go to Wanganui and Foxton, where demand exists for persons of their class, but to no purpose. They said that as their friends lived on the West Coast they would rather go there. It is not yet too late for them to re-consider their foolish determination, and we trust they will have common sense to alter their mind at once. The West Coast of South Island is at present, without exception, the poorest place in the Australian Colonies. People who lived there ten or twelve years left when they could manage to get away. Speaking with intimate acquaintance of the West Coast, we may say to these immigrants that it would be better for them to return to their native country than go there.
