For those of you who use Search Engines, Using More Than One Search Engine If you're like me, you probably turn to one or two search engines when looking for your ancestors. I routinely use Google.com for quick searches and altaVista.com for more complex ones. Google rates very high in returning the most relevant" search results; AltaVista gives you the capability of structuring the most complex searches. However, the Internet has many, many search engines, and I know I'm guilty of under-utilizing them. In my experience, each engine returns hits which are slightly different from other engines. So, if you hit a dead end, why not try other engine?
