Looking for descendants of Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" Ground Jr., who lived in Texas and later in New Mexico. In the 1890's, he was living in San Miguel County, NM. He was born in the mid 1800's in Kentucky or Texas. His parents may have been Thomas Jefferson Ground Sr. and Eliza Ground. I'm researching the history of Hulltown (later Moran), Shackelford County, Texas. T. J. Ground Jr. was the town's second postmaster, appointed in 1884, and was one of the town's earliest settlers. When streets were named in the 1880's, one was named Ground St. in his honor. I would like to find out if the T. J. Ground Jr. Family has any information on the early years of the town, possibly documents, photos, etc. If anyone knows the whereabouts of any descendants of T. J.
