Hello List: I am researching an individual by the name of Frank Porter CASNER (b.4-29-1884 TX dd10-12-1963 Los Lunas, Valencia Co., NM). Family tradition says he had six children; that Frank was arodeo rider; and that he was an interpreter for the Navajo Nation that had nammed him Sit-na-guy-sozi. Question: With this limited information, can someone tell me how to go about researching whether he was an interpreter for the Navajo Nation and to find out what "Sit-na-guy-sozi" might mean? I plan to be in NM later this year (Gallup, Alburquerque, Santa Fe and points inbetween) and hope to be able to explore this further. Thanks for any information.
