As you probably already know, the capitol of the Navajo Nation is in Window Rock,AZ, approximately 20 miles from Gallup. I would check with the census or department of vital records. They have all the offices you would expect of a country or state government, being an independent nation. They may have some knowledge of him, but can surely interpret his name.
