Hello List: I don't know if the weather in NM is as unmercifully cold there as it is here in OK (in the single digits). Anyway, it is a good day for doing all that genealogical stuff inside that one never has time for other wise. I am endeavoring to locate the final resting place of two of my CASNER people. John Casner and his son John Lewis Casner. The last oficial record found of them is in 6-1902 when they signed papers selling the last of their rangeland in TX. The family (minus John and John Lewis) are then found in 1906 up through 1920s in NM) on marriage records and census records. So presumable both died before 1910 as they are not on the 1910 census with the rest of the family. John Lewis is supposed to have died in 1-1903 in NM; no mention is ever made of when the elder Casner died. I have just made connection with one of thier descendants who grew up in NM (Lincoln and Otero Counties). She indicates there is a cemetery in Cloudcroft, NM where there are several persons buried by the name of CASNER, FIELDS, DOCKRAY. The Fields and Dockray families married into the Casner line. Is there anyone on this list who might have access to cemetery records for Cloudcroft and could check to see what persons by the name of CASNER, FIELDS, DOCKRAY might be buried there and supply the information to me. While the term 'several' was used, I doubt if there are more than six at the most. I would be thankful if only one of my Casner people were found resting in peace there.
