I am a french teacher who is searching informations about my ancestor's family who immigrate in NM as coal miners with his brother (or brothers ?) and their families. You say you would be delighted if you can do any lookups in New Mexico for anyone. I take you at the word, if you agree to it. My great grand-father's name is Edouard Pruvost (Prevost or Provost was the others spelling in US at that time). He emigrated in NM in 1895 (I know his destination was Blossburg, 10 km east of Raton, as written in the passenger list of the ship arrived in NY) and came back to France in 1900. His brothers Zéphir Henry Louis Joseph emigrated earlier in 1886 and stayed in NM, they lived in Madrid Town (1900 census) and Dawson (1910 census). Zéphir was married to Emma and they got 4 children : Zénobia born august 1884 in France Zénob born nov 1885 in France Uma born apr 1888 in France Sydney born mar 1890 in NM Zéphir and his son Sydney died in oct 1913. They both two have been missing and believed dead in the 1st Dawson mine explosion. I only own pictures (that I inherit from my grandmother who lived there) that have been taken in photographic art studio of Trinidad CO, Raton and Santa Fe. It's very difficult now to find descendant of my great grandfather's brother in NM and also of my Pruvost's line in France in my native area. I know about the réunion in the beginning of september, a friend tell me about it and I am planing a travel in NM at that time during summer vacation . Do you think you can help me in finding tracks of this family ? thank you for your help. I have a number of lines that I have traced back to my ancestors arriving in New Mexico about 1598. Several came with Onate and I am very proud of my heritage. My Mother's family arrived "late" into New Mexico in 1908 into Roy, Harding County, New Mexico. I live in Sandia Park, New Mexico, in the Sandia Mountains east of Albuquerque. I spend way too much time at our special collections library here and usually "lunch" at the FHC just blocks from my jobs. If I can do any lookups in New Mexico for anyone, I would be delighted. Next weekend we are celebrating Founders Day in Albuquerque (Alburquerque).........294 years old! Patryka Tachick gtachick@msn.com
