If you live near Los Lunas New Mexico we have ALL the New Mexico census already in the Family History Center at the LDS Church there. Don't need to pay rental. I myself paid for and put them on indefinite loan over the years, as I search most ot the counties in NM for a couple my children's spouses. I am not a member of the church, but I do research there and they are wonderful to help. I am looking for death date and burial place (in Albuquerque) for ('Bud') Barrett WRIGHT, b. ca 1900 Texas. He married Janey ?? and they had a son born after 1920, Leroy - other children unknown. Bud was the son of Henry WRIGHT and Mary/Matilda (Diance/Dinca) THOMPSON WRIGHT. He had three sisters, Emma, Jewell and Dessa; also two brothers, Bascum and (Arthur) Otto. My cousin in Oklahoma said he died in Albuquerque but doesn't know when. Bud moved to Albuquerque from Bristow, OK, sometime after 1935. Besides the information about my Great Uncle Barrett and his wife, I would like to locate my cousin(s). Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks! Julia Conkey Ridgefield, WA

Hello, I did get the site to work but everything I looked at is from the various county sites on the USGenWeb pages that are stored on RootsWeb. You can get to these same sites by going to the site below. It will bring up a US map and you can then click on the state. From there you can go to the various counties. USGenWeb Project States List and also.. from this next site, you can search specific states by surname. USGenWeb Archives State Search So you can get this same material in a different way. Hello List: I stumbled upon this site at <http://www.idreamof.com/marriage/>. Would you believe I located three marriages of persons for whom I was searching - now that I know where they were married, I can now write for licenses. Perhaps there are others out there this site might benefit.

I have been following back lines in the Anton Chico St. Jose church records and am wondering if others have ancestors from there. A couple of the lines have their origins in Albuquerque. One that does not is a Bartolo HIJAR born 1835 in Mexico (as opposed to New Mexico) The MONTANO (properly MONTAÑO) line goes back to Esteban MONTANO (b 1821) and Juliana SISNEROS (b 1825). The children I have thus far are: Maria Petra (b 1843), Telesfora (1847), Serifin (b1845), Cesario (1850), Dario (1851), Esquipula (1854), Jose Perfilio (1858), Redicindo (1861), Martin (1863), and Eugenio (1868). Does anyone have earlier records for Esteban MONTANO and Juliana SISNEROS? Jim Scofield, Livermore CA
Hi, I checked for the marriage of the parents from my earlier SANCHEZ-LOPEZ posting (copied below) of a marriage in Socorro from the collection of Angélico Chávez of prenuptial investigations. There were none in the proper time period. In scanning of the names in the collection, the earliest marriage I found in Socorro was 1829. The LDS copy of the regular church records go back 1821 - there is hope the marriages of the parents are recorded there. I happened upon the following marriage which I trust is merely a coincidence in having the correct names: 1830, April 22, Belen, JULIAN SANCHEZ (25), son of Jose SANCHEZ, deceased, and Maria Isidora SILVA, and Maria Luisa LUCERO, d. of Salvador LUCERO, deceased, and Ana Maria FAJARDO-- Witnesses: Pedro Silva (66), Gabriel Naranjo (38), both married, Jose Ignacio Chaves(30) The problem being that the marriage is at least four years too late. Jim Scofield - Livermore CA Earlier Posted marriage: 1850, Oct 27 (no 40), Socorro, JOSE DE JESUS SANCHEZ (24), farmer, n. of S. Lorenzo, son of Julian SANCHEZ and Maria Luisa LUCERO, and Maria Benita LOPEZ (18), n. of the same place, d. of Francisco LOPEZ and Guadalupe MONTYOYA. -- Witness as above. Witnesses above are: Ramon PADILLA (46), single, Pablo Gallegez (48), married, both farmers.
Hi Jim Scofield, Thank you so much..This does help me in my search very much!..any info is better then none..and this is a piece of my family puzzle...and I really do appreciate this from the bottom of my heart!!!..THANK YOU! Rose NC
Camilla- The book "Origins of New Mexico Families" is based on the early settlers of New Mexico in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. There is a small addenda with a few names to be found in the 19th century in New Mexico. Please tell me when your Chambers and Ellis families were in New Mexico.
