For those who are unsubscribing because of "trash" posts, I would suggest that you consider removing yourself from all mailing lists on the Internet and also from any other Email applications. Because of the multiplying number of "sweeper" programs available today to obtain "ALL" Email addresses and mail group addresses, you will find it extremely hard to avoid spam mail. The only way is through the use of a moderated mail group requiring membership approval of each subscriber and this is almost impossible to do with a group of this size. Even moderated groups are being spammed these days with some programs. The best solution is to scan the headers or subject lines of new messages and delete those you don't want to read before you open them. Rootsweb is a great group and you only lose by unsubscribing.
