Hi all! I have updated the database at the Denton family genealogy site this weekend. There are over 14,000 folks there now. I also added the following gedcoms which can be downloaded if you are interested: Denton, Plumlee, Moore, Hunt, Chastain. These gedcoms are all related families to the Dentons. Most of the information is compiled from many sources, so I appreciate all corrections and additions. The url is: http://www.acun.com/dentons Blessings! Sue Montgomery-Cook
I am continuing to update the Saints & Sinners webpages. I have added a page of links that will connect you to thousands (millions)of names for searches including the International Genealogical site. I would love to add your site to my link page and would appreciate your adding my site to yours. Please send me the URL of any site you think would be of value to readers of the Saints & Sinners pages. There are two form pages where you can leave comments and please do--this is how I know what to add or change on my pages. Thank you. Hello Everyone, Thanks to Paul Petersen and several other List Subscribers I was about to add several dozen new (working) links to my site. Primarily in the "Immigration and Ships" category. And over 800 hits in the last week alone. More of this kind of interest and I will continue to make improvements. Does anyone know If is it possible to add a Queries feature to an AOL Web Site? Can we please keep to the subject of new sites? Thanks (I don't mean to be negative - I just have too much mail to go through) TomSluder wrote: > > Gary, > > I'm sure some of my SLUDERs made it to Kansas...just not sure which ones. Gary, I'm sure some of my SLUDERs made it to Kansas...just not sure which ones. As far as I can tell, every SLUDER in the U.S. is related somehow through a common ancestor(s). Send me who/where on the SLUDERs you have and I'll see what I can do. Tom Sluder

I had similar problems with the Shipslist group. I finally unsubscribed because I couldn't get any mail. When I retrieved it from the ISP it would show 6 messages but I would only receive 5. My ISP and I determined it was the shipslist group but couldn't figure out why I didn't get it. Too bad, I would have liked to stay on the list. I really hate to disagree with you, but it IS NOT the fault of TheShipsList AT ALL. All digests are sent FROM Rootsweb. If you are not receiving all of the digest - then it is either one of the following resons: 1) YOUR email program is not correctly configured to receive digests and/or your email program may be outdated and this may be causing the problem. 2) YOUR isp is trunicating the digest because of the size, which is always about 28K and some isp apparently have a mailbox limit OR size on emails. When this happens it is best to just sub to the regular list mode or even get yourself one of the free email accounts like Juno or Hotmail, which have NO PROBLEM receiving the digests. Hi, folks - MSGenWeb is pleased to announce a new site for your researching pleasure. This specialized site is called "Southwest Mississippi Territory," and concentrates on genealogical and historical research in pre-1818 (pre-statehood) MS in the Natchez District. The area later became the counties of Amite, Adams, Claiborne, Franklin, Jefferson, and Wilkinson. The site is brand new, but we already have several history files up, links to pertinate files/sites, and a query board. We're currently working on a mailmerge db where we will be accepting submissions on your known pioneer ancestor. The URL is: http://www.rootsweb.com/~msswterr/index.htm There is also a mailing list associated with this site. The details for subscribing can be found at the site. Enjoy! Hi Jenny... I have had the same problem with majordomo. Perhaps it is a list without much activity. I believe that I have only seen one entry in the last month. Sent a note to the list and see what happens. By >the way I used my Hotmail address as well as Juno and never received >anything after the welcoming letter. Thank you in advance. > >Jenny Lee Tolbert >[email protected] ============================================= If you received a welcome letter you are on the list. If there is no mail it is because no one is posting any. I am on two like that. One I sent a post with all my information just to see if I would receive it back on the namelist. Sure enough. No one was posting so no mail. Then I sent another message telling everyone on the list to start posting their names and maybe someone would be able to help them and several did. If you send a message and still get no mail just resubscribe to the list. The only way to know if you are still on a list is to send the list a message. Hope this helps you. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

Hi all I would love to find mailing lists for the above names. I found one close to Foreman in [email protected] and subscribed but I have never been able to get any mail at all from this list. If anyone knows where to find a list for the above surnames or if you can tell me why I can't get mail from majordomo you will earn my eternal thanks. By the way I used my Hotmail address as well as Juno and never received anything after the welcoming letter. Thank you in advance.
