My site deals with mostly French Canadian surnames. I have links that included old occupations, diseases and illnesses, and handwriting, and more. I also have a new area where I will post your personal genealogy web pages. Come check it out and if you like it and are interested in exchanging links just email me your URL for review. Thanks http://www.angelfire.com/mi/jillsgenealogy/index.html
Hello, I wanted to let folks know that the East Tennessee Historical Society has been updating and re-designing its web pages. The currently updated pages include a calendar of events and registration information for upcoming ETHS genealogy workshops (including a conference in June featuring Mary McCampbell Bell and Dr. George K. Schweitzer), information about the historical society's First Families of Tennessee heritage project, and more. The web pages are still in their infancy and further updates and revisions are in the works. Drop by and visit ETHS on the web and let us know what sort of information you'd like to see on our pages. The ETHS home page is located at http://www.korrnet.org/eths/ If your research ever traces your family tree back to East Tennessee, then we hope you'll find the East Tennessee Historical Society to be a valuable asset in your research. Sincerely, Shane S. Rhyne, Public Relations Coordinator East Tennessee Historical Society P.O. Box 1629, Knoxville TN 37901-1629 [email protected] http://www.korrnet.org/eths/ ****Please note, at this time the East Tennessee Historical Society is not able to handle e-mail requests for research assistance. Unfortunately, our staff time and resources will not allow us to respond to such requests.****

I give out special awards to genealogy sites that are great places to visit and contain a lot of useful information. I've created a mailing list so that the members can be notified of new sites that I've discovered. If you would like to join my list or nominate a site for an award, please visit http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Flats/4239 Thanks, Amy Brown

Hi all Sorry, but I think this is the way to tell the list owner of a problem encountered with my mailbox. It is fixed now, I can receive mail. FYI, if you have AOL and your mailbox says it is empty and you can not receive mail because your mailbox thinks it is full, send yourself the message following message "set mail flag" in both your subject and message body. My husband had tried to send me mail and it was returned or I would have not known for who knows how long. Again, aren't you glad I put in the subject line what my problem was so you wouldn't have to read this? Beth in Ontario, Canada
Today I got 'spammed' with a 2 page dissertation on HOUSEHOLD PRINCIPLES, etc. Cute, but what does it have to do with genealogy? I'd even stretch eye and hair color to be included on the list, but this is a waste of time, paper, bandwidth, etc. Stop wasting my time. Some of you need to get a life. Stuff like this is comparable to whether or not you take a shower everyday. It is re: personal habits and has NOTHING to do with genealogy. I subscribe to several lists. My time is precious. I don't have time for this crap. It loads up my e-mail. I take my hobby seriously and want the facts, not this dumb chatter. Submit your ditty to the Joke lists, it is more relevant. Too much stuff comes through that doesn't belong here. There are certain lists for certain things and monologues are not for this list. Let's stick with the genealogy, please. Judy M.- It is a joke -- and I agree, a good one! I got this one some time ago. I only wish I had the time -- and the creative brain -- to think up something like it! Didn't send a copy to all your lists, but you may wish to do so. No need to reply to my response. Betty
As I reading the latest digest(leaning on my desk), I accidently hit the space bar then hit it again when I moved my elbow. This promptly deleted the digest---It was the one including the "laws for children". I would really like to have a copy of this digest. Are they archived anywhere? I have added to and updated the Saints & Sinners webpages. http://members.aol.com/scribblerg/saints.htm I have added MANY links to the page of links, great research links for anyone on the web, plus pages of queries from GRIGGS subscribers and more. The newsletter advertising has been moved to its own page so you don't have to read it if you don't want to (the Mummy's Curse will visit your computer if you don't read it <G>)and it is still mostly text so you don't have to wait all day to download. PLEASE sign the guestbook or forms and let me know what you think. I really want your input on improvements, additions and whatever. I am getting lots of readers but I would like to know what you think.
