    3. Lynn, Most states require a reason as to why you are requesting this information. I have put research/family history and our local office here has always accepted that. I have discovered that some of the state office (Dept of Vital Records) require you to be (1) an immediate family member or (2) a direct descendant. Good Luck! Best regards, Anne

    1. [NEW-GEN-URL-L] BDM index IIGS Global Village
    2. PAM LEE MIDDLETON
    3. --------------------------- IIGS BDM Exchange A free resource to genealogists who wish to share information about details contained on birth, death or marriage certificates. The Global Village acts as a central indexing site for the already existing BDM Exchanges of the UK, NZ, and Australia . Since it's launch, Ireland, USA, Benelux, France and Germany have been added and. Canada will be following shortly. Now you can visit one place and pick up all the entries for a given name there regardless of which country they relate to. This is ideal if you aren't sure where to look next, or if you are gathering people in a one name study, for instance. If you wish to send in entries, the links are there to access each country's submission system. If you have entries for a country which doesn't run a BMD Exchange, tell the Global Village. We will add new exchanges for any and every country as information is submitted. If a BMD Exchange isn't listed, let us know, we'll contact them and hopefully include them. IIGS GV hopes to be able to add a search engine to the site and that will make searching even easier. The resulting database could be used in a migration study, surname distribution study and so on. Go to http://www.iigs.org/global_village/bdm/ to submit your entries, use the Exchange or just to find out more. posted for: IIGS Global Village by Pam Middleton-Lee 4/16/09 *IIGS-International Internet Genealogical Society http://www.iigs.org Co-Team leader Public Relations Team Member: University, Newsletter, Webmasters, IRC, Membership, Talent Scouts Teams

    3. Travis -- I appreciate the separate messages. Even though they take a lot of screen lines, for me--it's much easier to sort out the family groups in which I might have an interest. A long one with surnames "within" the message itself may never get read since the subject line would be so non-descript. I get too many messages to read the entirely of them all--but the SUBJECT line catches my attention. Appreciate your work, Jean Ladd [email protected] Oklahoma City At 04:48 PM 4/16/98 -0700, you wrote: >Travis: > >I for one appreciate your thoughfullness in sending all of them.
