Hi, I have updated my web pages and added a unusual Smith names page. Also I have added a lookup page for books I own on Queen Anne's co Maryland Lynn Smith http://members.aol.com/Lynn4604/index.html
I created a new genealogy home page. My primary surnames are ROGERS, PECK, LAMAR and BROWN, but my pages include many more surnames. I list information on my earliest ancestors, related books by author, related links, published stories my dad has written about his childhood experiences, many graphics, music, a querybook you can sign, and some cemetery information. I will be adding family photos, newspaper clippings and related links for starters. Even if you aren't related, I think you would enjoy visiting my pages. Hope you visit soon! Primarily a GEORGE family genealogy. OLD photos, Old Documents. Allied family links, Bits and pieces of misc., " George and Allied", data accumulated over 25 yrs of research. More added as time permits. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Valley/2001/
You wrote: >>>I resent the use of this URL for this type of advertising This site is for new genealogy site promotion!<<< I agree! I forwarded that spam to [email protected] They are awesome at closing their accounts! It may not shut them down for good, but it does put a "hitch in their get-a-long." Below is their auto response. In the next couple of days they'll send the results of their inquiry on that account and report what action they took. (on all spam abuse I've sent them, they've closed the accounts.) Sorry to post this to the list... Since we were victims on this mail list, I just wanted to give us all one way we could fight back. Good luck to you all in your research! How can we keep trash off our web site, we don't need sex information. Please advise Rodney
Please stop by and check out my new site! http://members.aol.com/nrainh20/index.html (That's a zero, not a "oh") Researching: FISHER,CHRISMAN,MONEYMAKER,CLICK,HISAW,RAINWATER,GIBSON,PERKINS,HORTON,HAYES,C OMBS,and many more. Happy Hunting! Lisa
For those who are unsubscribing because of "trash" posts, I would suggest that you consider removing yourself from all mailing lists on the Internet and also from any other Email applications. Because of the multiplying number of "sweeper" programs available today to obtain "ALL" Email addresses and mail group addresses, you will find it extremely hard to avoid spam mail. The only way is through the use of a moderated mail group requiring membership approval of each subscriber and this is almost impossible to do with a group of this size. Even moderated groups are being spammed these days with some programs. The best solution is to scan the headers or subject lines of new messages and delete those you don't want to read before you open them. Rootsweb is a great group and you only lose by unsubscribing. Thank you for that. To unsubscribe send to [email protected] nothing on the subject line and the only words in the body of the message should be UNSUBSCRIBE. Any of the lists that have GEN in them have to do with Genealogy and that is all they are for. I know of no lists for your type of ad but there must be some out there somewhere. When you subscribe to a list read your welcome letter and it should explain what it is about. It is very big of you to reply like this. You evidentially got on a list you didn't want to be or misunderstood. I would have to suggest you stay with the newsgroups, they must have one for your interests. There are a LOT of people online interested in what you have to offer, I am just not familiar with it enough to tell you how to reach those who want it, sorry. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

If all List members do this, we'll all be deleting message after message, so please everyone, don't feel compelled to tell us about your resentment. The original spam had nothing to do with this List, but niether do our comments about it. Let's not compound the problem. Nuff said, I hope.

I resent the use of this URL for this type of advertising This site is for new genealogy site promotion!
I have updated my genealogy web site, it now includes more links and data. It contains mostly French Canadian surnames and data. I also have a section where I will add a link to your genealogy web page (I would appreciate a link on your site too) Please stop by and check it out. Thanks....Jill http://www.angelfire.com/mi/jillsgenealogy/index.html

Nuff said, I hope. ================================================================== I just want to add that the person who posted that is not reading this list thus is not reading you messages (most likely not anyway). I did not read that message just deleated it. Do Not reply to that message as they will then have your e-mail address (now they only have the lists address) and you will likely get them more often. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
