    1. [NE Railroads] Trains and Tracks in Prov. of Quebec

    3. Hello,   Because one set of my ancestors arrived in Canada and the Prov. of Quebec in the 1820's,  I belong to several of the Quebec Lists.     This morning on the Quebec-Research List someone posted a web site which offers a history and photos of trains and associated structures in the Prov. of Quebec.   At this second, at 5 am,  I don't remember when train service first began between the Prov. of Quebec and New England and New York, etc.    But, I'm sure I can look it up.        Looking at the pictures just now I was reminded of a similar picture I saw on-line several years ago.      It was about a train traveling down tracks - which were .way.  up there.   Oh,  just this second remembered it was about .covered bridges.     If I'm remembering correctly, the train tracks were on top of a covered bridge.       (Would never find me on that train.)    :o)   In regard to trains being made available between Canada and Maine,   I read about the "old walking trail"  between the Prov. of Quebec and the middle part of Maine.    Can't think of the official Maine at the moment.    But, it's been mentioned on the Lists before.    What I also can't remember whether there were train tracks near that old trail,  or did it just become a highway later on.   Just an FYI for you.   Betty             (near Lowell, MA, USA)     (on Lists for 10 yrs.;  now an Admin for 9 Lists and 3 Boards)
